http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/stor ... 72,00.htmlI'm not trying to defend Nielsen but at least he didn't manage to lose an Ashes series with a Shane Warne at the peak of his powers along with the likes of batters the class of Matthew Hayden, Adam Gilchrist and Justin Langer in his side. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't this guy just get sacked by his IPL team?
Anyone got Warnie's number so we can get a response to this?

Once again, not defending Tim Nielsen at all, but Buchanan needs to have a long hard look at himself. Doesn't he realise he had the greatest group of players at his disposal in his time as coach, and did little other than send them out to play?
Give Buchanan this current group, and see how he goes. My guess is, not too well.

Buchannan you idiot. Homer Simpson could have coached the Aussies when he had them.

This bloke is just a peanut. Everything Warne has said about this man is true.

Can't wait for the response to this from Warne and Ian Chappell

About time someone put the heat on the coach. If it was a footy team the coach would of been sacked. I said 6-8 months ago he is a muppet and thanks Tim you proved me right.

A muppett he may well be, but when he leaves our shores with Hauritz as his spinner, Hughes as his opener and Hussey on the decline he didnt have alot as his disposal.
You do know we dont have the best
team in world cricket anymore?

Well we just beat SA in SA so we can't be terrible and the pom's aren't the best side ever either. Bopara, bell, cook aren't world beaters by any stretch. We didn't get beaten by a better team thats for sure.
The coaches job is to plan some tactics with the skipper and prepare his players so they play there best. I think he hasn't done this for a few years now. Tactics predictable and preparation we looked under done again. On tour he also is involved with selection so he some issues there he needs to be accountable for.
The main problem is Ponting gets stung for everything and this guy gets away scott free. Crows lose one game and Craig is under the pump, Nielsen's record is rubbish. 20/20 last summers on day cricket all of it is predictable and not forward thinking.

In Cricket the captain/coach role is almost reversed. The Captain of a footy club doesn't cop as much as the coach and in Cricket it's the other way around. I still believe that in this series it is the players who deserve the heat, not the selectors and not the coach.

So the coach executes the plans? Dont think so, might be the players methinks.

I don't have any comments about what was actually quoted, but why would Buchanan play it out in the media in the first place?
Seems daft to me.

That is true but our plans and preparation weren't good enough and haven't been for a while.
What does everyone see as the coaches job???? Why are we paying him well over $200,000 a year if his job is to order taxi's and carry the balls to training?????

That's what I was thinking but needed someone else to verify.
