I have heard on the radio this morning that the Poms will make 5 changes to their line-up for the 5th test, they are as follows.

Cook out
Bopara out
Bell out
Swann out
Onions out

The only one who could think themself unlucky IMO is Onions the rest have been crap all series.

Does this mean Ramprakash is a realistic chance of playing in the 5th test .

Pretty extreme reaction to 1 test match loss. That squad did win at Lords after all. Maybe some tweaking in the middle order required, but changing half the team??

Agreed it is a huge amount of changes after 1 loss in 4 games .

Has done quite well I thought, and wouldn't mess with the opening partnership if there are other changes being made. Has done a lot better at leaving the tempting nicks. Hasn't been outstanding but deserves to stay

That's a given, by virtue of the fact he shouldn't have even come into the test team as a number 3.

Bell out
Technically good to watch, suffered from being in and out. Probably should've been given the three gig in front of Bopara, with Ravi at 4 or 5 (assuming they wanted him in)

Swann out
Hasn't been bad, I guess it depends if they are bringing in Monty or not having a spinner at all.

Onions out
Did really well and impressed me despite being named after a food. Bit unlucky - and faster than I thought he was.

I can believe for most part the outs, but why they would drop Alistair Cook has me baffled?

Has this been officially confirmed anywhere? I can't see England dropping Onions or Cook and to a lesser extent Swann.

these blokes have not been dropped as yet,they have been told to go back and play county cricket before the next test.

Most of those guys will end up playing. Bopara might go but that might be it. Speaking of swinging the axe, they might as well start with Harmison. He only has one ball...around the ears. He knows nothing else.

That may be the case here i was interested to see if anyone else had heard it.

No probs bloods ... I haven't seen anything today regarding Pommy team selections other than Freddie ... one saying through his agent that he was fit for the last test and how disappointed he was not to play, and the other saying that he will play in the last Test.

Time will tell.

No not confirmed.

All five mentioned have been released to play County Cricket during the break between tests to regain some form or at least try, They have not been dropped from the English side for the 5th test.

Cheers i was surprised the way it was said but obviously they forgot to mention they had been released to play county cricket and not actually dropped, or i just f*(ked up and heard it wrong.

Still interesting that they have released Cook, Swann and Bopara maybe if they had played more than 3 days of cricket this test they wouldn't have been released to county cricket .

Swann has done nothing this series. i cant beleive people would be suprised at him being dropped. this bloke has bowled PUSS.

Onions wont be dropped IMO. i think he has bowled well and been dangerous. (anderson n flintoff under injury clouds, you need a workhorse like onions to bowl long spells)

Cook. the VC of the team. dont think he will go. has a shocking recored against the AUS side, but last test and the lords test he showed a bit of character.

Bopara and Bell. say no more.

For me 3, possible 4 changes adding harmison to that list.

I would only drop Bopara out of those players.

Although people may disagree, I like Ian Bell and think that he is a pretty good cricketer. Onions is a good bowler, Swann is ok, Cook has done well this series. Bopara has not played well at all.

Assuming all of Englands bowlers were fit for the 5th test, i would play:

Flintoff
Onions
Harmison
Swann
Anderson

Dropping Broad. But i think he will play as he took wickets last test.

I would love to see Ramprakash back, but highly doubt it would happen

Good to see Bopara, Bell and Cook made a total of 6 in the county games they are plying in currently!!!!!!!
