How much cricket will watson play between not and then? No Johnson interesting.

What about Warner do you think he can step up to the 5 day game?

I think If Watson concentrates on purely being a batsmen he may be around, Warner don't think so, not sure If he is suited to the longer form of the game. Has only played 1 first class game and with a fit Jaques and Watson ( if not in Aussie side ) will find it hard to get a game n shield. Johnson will prob be still there If I picked a squad would have him in it.

Watson will be confined to a wheelchair by 2013. Warner is just a dirty slogger and will never make it to Test level.

Green i think are certainties given they stay fit. I'd add Johnson to the list as well.

Blue i think are a chance if they can improve and perform at a consistent level.

Red i think are absolutely no chance.

It's a pretty tough gig to pick a side 4 years out though. Inevitably there will be blokes who mature and start dominating domestic cricket that you never would have thought possible. Equally there will be guys who drop off the radar very quickly who we thought would be stars. Interesting to look at though.

S KATICH
B HODGE
R PONTING
M HUSSEY
D MARSH
A SYMONDS
B HADDIN
B LEE
S CLARK
B MCGAIN
S HARWOOD

This would be the team
When you drop Hughes and keep Hussey in 2009 that would seem to suggest the selectors have motives

And Chris Matthews.
He'd have allrounder status wouldn't he? Could replace Watson.
