How long do we think M. Hussey will get a free ride in the Australian Test side. Since the start of the Australian Summer Hussey has made 345 runs at an avg of 23. Thats 10 Test matches of under performing. I know he has some runs in the bank before his form slump but I feel his time has come. Not many players in the past have afforded this luxury of consistent failure. What gets me is that the selectors have not picked a specialist batsman for the Ashes, and seem intent on getting the Golden child or Boss's Son in Watson the number 6 spot.

I've always said he deserved this series to prove himself. He's made an average start.

If we're winning we might be able to keep him in there for the rest of the series but he still looks dodgy after the Ashes time to move on.

If that token boy Watson still keeps getting a gig I think the Huss is safe

He's gotta make runs, no doubt about it. I would say two more tests without and he's gone.
He now has the opportunity to become the next Mark Waugh (except maybe a wee bit more intense

- all he's got to do is make a 72 next innings and he'll get three more test matches!

Will have longer than that.
Haddin at 6, McDonald at 7? No thanks.

What has McDonald done to earn a batting spot ahead of Hussey?

he needs runs, he has got one or two hundreds since the India tour i think. but in saying that he will play the whole series because you dont drop your number 4 for an Allrounder. and thats all we got in the sheds it would upset the balance of the side..
they should have taken Watson or Ronald Mcdonald not both and a spare batsman (hodgey or Fergy).

Sigh, not this sh1t again. Haddin is no number 6. Leave him at 7 where he belongs and is comfortable.

I would much rather have Fergusson or Bailey in there but the dumb ass selectors didn't think it was valid to take a back up batsman.

I agree. I reckon Ferguson should be over there.
I was surprised they basically locked Hussey in for the whole series like that, given his diabolical recent form and his age. There's no back up batsman for any of the top 5
Hopefully we don't need a back up for him, if all goes well. But even just to create some pressure for the batting spot it could have been useful.

Of course REB would put Watto straight in but he is biased towards NSW players.

He'll come good, I have absolute faith in him. If he and Boof had played last time we were over there (and McGrath didn't step on that bloody cricket ball!) things may well have been different.

I'd give Ferg a go. Either that or bring in Rogers and put Kat back in the middle order. You'll remain forever a cadet if you don't realise that McDonald is seriously 5hit. Cripes, even Cameron 5hite is better than him. Keep the belly laughs coming.

Now that's just being cruel. Why couldn't he go to the Jellybacks instead??

That's a pretty big call suggesting Cameron 5hite is better than McDonald. Both ar crap with the bat but McDonald is far more accurate with the ball and also moves it of the pitch more that 5hite
