I thought we could keep this thread for off season domestic cricket news given that many players could be possibly swapping states during the silly season.
We all obviously know that Shane Watson will be playing for NSW next year after leaving QLD but now the Bulls have had another shock with Ashley Noffke joining the Warriors on a 2 year deal. Qld told Noffke he was not in their 20/20 plans and was quite possibly not going to be selected in 50 over cricket and the Pura Cup was his priority. Terrible decision by QLD cricket and i have to wonder what is going on up there, Watson, Noffke and Johnson all having left in the past 2 years (Granted Johnson and Watson for family reasons).
Big Big loss for QLD IMO.

Have QLD offered Symonds a contract at all?

Very unlikely. Symonds has told them to plan without him because he is unsure of his future. He has not ruled playing later in the year for basic wages.
His choice not theirs.
Vic's chasing Bravo for the 20/20 Big Bash.

Unlike the imports of the past, teeball imports will leave a very small legacy to their host states. Another great aspect of this 'exicting' 'sport'.

Justin Langer has said he will come back and play for WA only if he is appointed captain again. Strange comments from JL.
Marcus North and Tom Moody say a quick no thanks.

And fair enough too. Why if he wants to play for WA again would he think he should be captain?

Tasmania squad George Bailey (capt), Tim Paine, Travis Birt, Luke Butterworth, Ed Cowan, Gerard Denton, Michael Dighton, Xavier Doherty, Alex Doolan, Brendan Drew, James Faulkner, Brett Geeves, Adam Griffith, Ben Hilfenhaus (Cricket Australia contract), Jason Krejza, Rhett Lockyear, Tim Macdonald, Adam Maher, Daniel Marsh, Ricky Ponting (CA), Jonathan Wells.

Tasmania have gained three imports from New South Wales and axed three semi-regular members of their side for the 2009-10 season. The Tigers have confirmed their list of contracted players, which does not feature Dane Anderson, Mark Divin or David Dawson, all of whom had deals last summer.
Their major signing was the New South Wales opener Ed Cowan, who has 25 first-class games to his name but found himself on the fringes of the Blues outfit last year. Cowan has been joined in heading south by two fellow New South Wales grade cricketers, the fast bowler Adam Maher and the bowling allrounder Matthew Day

Geez it's not a good sign when Tasmania is beating you to get players.
Come on Redbacks sign someone exciting.
