I wonder how much Angelo Mathews gets paid out about his name from his team-mates. A bit like Russel Arnold.

I think Sri Lanka will be a good show in this tournament, but India would have to be favourites?

When are the England, NZ and Zimbabwe squads announced?

Shoaib Akhtar's latest fitness concern, a skin problem, has ruled him out of Pakistan's training camp for the World Twenty20, coach Intikhab Alam said.

Johan Botha, the South African vice-captain, has been given the green light to play in the World Twenty20 despite his doosra testing almost twice the legal elbow flexion limit. Botha's doosra was measured at 26.7 degrees by the ICC's appointed biomechanist, Bruce Elliott, and will be banned until the bowler can prove he can deliver "the other one" at a flexion limit of less than 15 degrees.

But the offspinner will be able to continue bowling at domestic and internatioinal level, after his offbreak (12.2 degrees) and arm-ball (11.1 degrees) measured within the ICC's parameters.

What a huge amount over the allowed flexion

What figure was Murali tested at? Didn't they extended the allowable flexion so that he would scrape in - if Botha is DOUBLE the amount Murali tested then he should be banned, or banned from bowling his "doorsa" at least.

As for the group India has drawn, it certainly won't be known as the "Group of Death" - what a joke. [-(

The Chucka Flexes at 14.9 degrees or something similar, Change the rules to 15 degrees and hey presto we are out of the Sh1t.

England could be forced to go into next month's ICC World Twenty20 without the services of their premier allrounder, Andrew Flintoff, after he revealed that he has yet to start running after undergoing surgery on a knee injury sustained during his brief stint at the IPL in April

They probably deserve the easiest preliminary matches given the fact that they are the reigning champions.

Getting closer to happening (from cricinfo.com)

The ICC has announced changes to the Intercontinental Cup which will see the introduction of two divisions featuring as many as 11 teams.

As revealed by Cricinfo earlier this month, Zimbabwe will also feature in the tournament, although this is still subject to ratification by Zimbabwe Cricket. Given that the country's participation in the tournament was one of the requirements in its attempts to return to the Test fold, it seems highly unlikely the board will reject the idea.

The decision, made by the ICC's development committee, means that Zimbabwe will join Ireland, Canada, Kenya, the Netherlands, Afghanistan and Scotland in a seven-team top division. The United Arab Emirates, Namibia, Bermuda and Uganda will play each other for the ICC Intercontinental Shield.
