Unfortunately Kerry Packer promised him a job for life due to him participating in World Series. Looks like the promise is being adhered to even though Mr Packer is no longer with him.

Nah I like Healy as his tactic insights on teh game (as a 'keeper) are pretty good
Taylor is good when he tries to be himself but he has obvioulsy been told to spruik it up and get animated. When he does that he sounds like a prat.
Chappelli, Slater, and Ritchie are the best it will be a sad day when he hangs up the Microphone next year.
If Bill, Tony and Nicholas were crossing the road, I for one wouldn't slow down.....

In honour of two cricket greats announcing their retirements well ahead of the big day (Richie Benaud 2010, Chaminda Vass 2011), I'm going to announce that I will be retiring from work in 2039.

78 or 81, who plans 2 years ahead at that stage?

I know Alan McGillvray's retirement was hastened by the plethora of one day cricket. He hated it. Maybe the hold 20/20 has on the cricket world has forced Richie to retire as well. Let's face it, an in depth knowledge of the game is only an optional extra when it comes to calling 20/20.
