Thought i might start a thread about first class cricketers we have played against in lower grades.
Mine would have to be facing Shaun Tait about 10 years ago and then second probably Cullen Baillie.

Played against Mark Cosgrove in Ray Sutton Shield Cricket back in the day.
He wasnt chunky then, but still very slow between the wickets, thats probaby why he hit so many boundries.

Boo the Aust selectors dropping Tim May so his missed his FAI Cup debut 20 odd years ago.

Yes, he could slaughter an attack with a vengence. Pity he never went on with it. I watched him batting on Park 25 one day and he was hitting the ball into the next postcode.
Best batsman I bowled to was also the best batsman I've ever seen ... Barry Richards. That man could make batting seem effortless, and that shot he played between mid on and mid wicket was incredible.
Fortunately it wasn't a game for points. Best cricketer I've played against in a fair dinkum game was without doubt David Hookes. I still think the cricket world does not appreciate just how good this guy was. Once he was on top of you, there was no way out for the bowler, you just had to hope he made an error.
Best bowler faced ... Wayne Prior. That man was quick. First ball I faced, I saw the ball pitch and was moving into the stroke when I heard it fizz past my nose. Woke me up in a real hurry

Yes it is.
Very good cricketer. Never had a crack at town from what I understand.
I've been on the end of some of his monsterings over the years.

I've had the pleasure of playing with/against Doc Clifford and Michael Gutsche in the time I've been here.
Two brilliant cricketers.
Gutsch was amazing to play with.
Doc could be brutal, while Gutsch accumulated at a rapid pace.
Gutsche is easily the best cricketer I've played with.

Currently playing a game against Peter Sleep and for 51 years old he is pretty good. nudges the ball around to rotate the strike might not be as quick as a younger kid between the wickets but still gets the job done. Got an acknowledgement of a good ball after playing and missing last week too.
I bowl to Ryan Watkins a current First Class player with Glamorgan every week in the nets.
Also when Ben Johnson was at the end of his 1st class career I went on many a long jogs to fetch a ball
