Thought I would kick off the preview again, after all Ive done 2 previews for 2 Aussie wins !
Series now deadlocked at 2-2
A fine resurgance by the Aussies in the last 2 games.
Bowlers found form and we batted well enough to win game 4
The only criticism I had with Pontings captaincy was not bowling Clark out 1/23[8] and giving White 0/24[2] a bowl
Did I hear something in the Adelaide oval crowd
Sounded like " Come on Hussey come on come on , come on Hussey come on come on ."
Great to see Mike continue to bat well and great to see David Hussey silence a few critics on safooty.
Game 5 bring it on
Should be an unchanged team for mine

McGain in for White and Siddle in for Hilfenhaus.
These are the changes that should be thought about IMO.
Clarke is also in doubt with an injury which would be a big blow given his recent form with both bat and ball..

Might give Ferg a chance to bat a bit higher up though.

Why? His age does not come into it IMO. If he is the best candidate then he should get the nod.

I agree with Pup, age should not be a factor - and if you look at Franger Cup stats from last year, McGain was right up there with the best bowlers.
However, I don't really care who comes in for Cam White - as long as he isn't in the side I'll be happy!

Exactly
Equal leading wicket taker in last years Ford Ranger and bowling at an average of 24 really is fantastic bowling.
The thing people need to realise is that even if McGain only plays Test and ODI's for 12 months and does it well (Which i think he will.) Then that gives the younger spinners (Heal, Hauritz, Doherty, Cullen and anyone else) a chance to have 12 months more development under their belt, so that hopefully they are at a stage where they actually deserve a game in the Australian team and are not just thrown in the deep end as has been the case in the past few years.
Look at the last few tours, Cameron White playing test matches when clearly not ready and is the thrid best spinner for Victoria, Dan Cullen a couple of years back and now is struggling for SA, Hauritz was on the scrap heap for 4 years and couldnt get a 4 day game for either NSW or Queensland, Casson playing in the West Indies and now seems destined never to play for Australia again, Krejza plays 2 tests and then gets replaced by Hauritz. We just cant keep playing players who are clearly not ready.
McGain is the man and if he is not right then i would seriously contemplate not playing a spinner at all until we can develop a decent one.

If your good enough your old enough, usually gets used for the younger players. Saw McGain bowl a bit lately, looks good, i'd giv him a go

The latest start time we have is 6:30pm local time. This will allow a 20-over fixture, for the moment though the rain has returned.
The toss has predictably been delayed with the full covers still down, not raining at the moment though. The good news is that the ground from up here looks in good condition, so if the rain stops we may have play fairly quickly.

F**cking rain, doesn't sound like there is much hope for any form of a game - they should hold final matches in Adelaide where it never, ever rains!
Was looking forward to watching this game with a few coldies too...
