Aussies are back with a win at the scg, series now 2-1 and some pressure on the enzedders
The batting was jump started by the second best batting keeper Australia has ever owned.
The part time bowlers White/Hussey at last took wickets , but are still a worry, Clarke was flogged.
The only worry was the staggering fightback by Elliott + the nsw keeper Mccullum
But we won.

Im still concerned about the 5th bowler and would bring in Noffke
To do that either Hussey [d] white or fergy must go
It must not be fergy
So unfortunately it would be White in my opinion, although he just does enough to keep his spot
But I feel the side will be unchanged

The big losers from the last 2 digs will be Warner and Marsh, now that Clarke + Haddin are firing as openers

My line up

clarke
haddin
ponting
hussey
hussey
ferguson
hopes
noffke
johnson
bracken
hilfenhaus or mcgain ? but Tait if fit or harris perhaps ??????????????????????????????

12th man white
13th man Voges can go fishing by the river torrens and enjoy his holiday, and then ask himself I am a good player but how did I get picked in this squad before about 6 other state players

On a more serious note all gate proceeds or the commonwealth bank will donate a $ million to the bushfire appeal ?
The saca will donate I believe to be $25k as well

Im not sure one decent dig means you're firing as an opener
Harris has been sent home for the duration as has Warner

Yep Ashley Nofke definately deserves to be in the team after taking a total of 4 wickets and making 46 runs this year in the Franger Cup

Is anyone going tomorrow night? surely after over 30 years of one dayers in this country, cricket australia would realise that a day nighter on a tuesday won't pull a crowd in adelaide.

tip for the crowd 8000.

Brackhair is looking average at minute....he has been copping some decent stick! Hard to like - just looks very un Australian, unless he was representating us in ballroom dancing..

I would suggest this will boost the numbers:

MEDIA RELEASE
9 February 2009

Commonwealth Bank Series Bushfire Appeal Set-up

Australian cricket is offering cricket fans a chance to do their bit to help bushfire victims by supporting an appeal that will run throughout the Channel 9 telecast of Tuesday’s Commonwealth Bank Series match at the Adelaide Oval between Australia and New Zealand.

Cricket Australia (CA) Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said fans wanting to help can make a donation to a special Commonwealth Bank Series Bushfire Appeal fund by visiting a Commonwealth Bank branch or heading to http://www.cricket.com.au/bushfireappeal, and donating into the Commonwealth Bank appeal account (BSB 06 2000, Account 1207 5700).

“The tragic news on Saturday and Sunday shocked us all and Australian players at the Sydney game were keen to see what cricket could do to help,” he said.

“Cricket is a part of the community in all the regions affected and those regions have produced fine club, state and international players.

“At the end of the day, this is a national tragedy and we just want to do something to help.”

Following urgent CA, Commonwealth Bank and Channel 9 talks on Sunday, the Commonwealth Bank Series Adelaide game will be used as a fund raiser with all money going to the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund, a fund set-up by the Victorian Government, in partnership with the Australian Government and the Red Cross, to support communities affected by the fires.

The Channel 9 telecast will publicise the Commonwealth Bank account the public can use throughout tomorrow’s game.

Additionally, the Commonwealth Bank has donated $1,000,000; Cricket Australia has donated $100,000; and the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) has donated $25,000.

In addition to its $1 Million donation, the Commonwealth Bank has agreed to donate an additional $100 for every run scored and $5,000 for six hit during the Adelaide game.

After consultation with the Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA), the SACA, Ticketek and the ACA have agreed that all ticket revenue from tickets sold to the game from today on, including the normal share that goes to player payments, will be donated to the Appeal.

The SACA will also have volunteers at the Adelaide Oval rattling tins for the Appeal, urging Adelaide cricket fans to donate their spare change.

Cricket Australia partners Gatorade and Sanitarium will be donating food and drink products to communities and fire fighting services affected by the bushfires.

Commonwealth Bank Series Bushfire Appeal donation account (open from today):

BSB 06 2000

Account 1207 5700

All donations over $2 are tax deductible

I know it is a great but tragic cause, but that's not going to get people out of work to go to the cricket though is it?

People would just donate money rather than go to the game. I fear this match will make the people of Adelaide seem rather heartless with the turnout I expect.

Yeah. I mean it's a Tuesday, how many can turn up? I know a few people that just cannot make it.

I don't get our Ltd News paper but surely Tait must be injured again? He bowled well in the first game and hasn't played since and now Siddle has been called into the sqaud for these last two games.

Top 4 are right handers, 9 in total, not very often we see that in an Aussie line-up. Good to see David Hussy getting another go, his 16 off 38 balls will prove invaluable.

Bloody hell surely White will not come in before THE FERG?

Ferg looked at home in his two brief innings so far, especially the second one.

The NZ bowlers just bowl full tosses to White because he knows he will only get singles off them (if that). I'm yet to see big hitting by him and let's face it, that is the only reason he is in the Aussie team.

Put Ferg up the order and give him a chance. He will score at a run a ball. Watching him just effortless flick balls away for singles when required was brilliant to watch and makes you wish he came in higher. I'd put him above Dave Hussey even though that will never happen.
