About ******* time someone had the balls to get these fossilised people out of the SACA and bring in some young positive ex players with fresh ideas.

All I've read in the article is "refused to confirm" and "might be interested". Doesn't sound all that positive to me.
I'm a huge Boof fan, an believe he would be ideal, but he was very outspoken about the SACA Board and the structure of SA cricket ... and rightly so ... but if he doesn't deliver with this he will make himself look a little silly.
Come on Boof, I want to hear what you WILL be doing, not what you may be interested in doing.

I am an ardent Boof fan, but what can he bring to the Board of the SACA? And what really does the Board have to do with cricket? He'd be better off getting on the High Performance team and helping Jamie Cox, IMO.

Only a couple of weeks or so ago after dropping out of the race for the England coaching job:
"I would love to be an international coach but for me at the moment it is not the be-all and end-all. I want to gain some experience in the Indian Premier League with some state, India and international players."
To me, he doesn't sound focused on any one thing at the moment. He would need to clearly articulate how he is going to turn things around and how his IPL coaching commitment$ are going to affect any SACA role. Cricket is made up of players, coaches and administrators - it is very difficult to do more than one at one time.

Certainly sounded like a media beat up to me.

Yes it did but the SACA chief and leader of the good old SACA boys didnt take it that way. He has fired up some comments for Lehmann. I really hope its on, my word we need some of that old dead wood out, but is lehmann really that keen, its hard to tell from that media report.
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/stor ... 28,00.htmlIn fact old Ian has become very defensive. My favourite part was when he started talking about Jamie Cox........um nobody has questioned that yet, is our good mate old Ian starting to lose it?

By getting stuck into the performance of the Redbacks, he is getting stuck into Jamie. If he were really for improvement then he would allow the current raft of changes made at Adelaide Oval to bed in and have some impact and run for the Board in the same manner anyone else could, via the AGM. Ripping in publicly isn't the answer, but the Advertiser are lapping it all up at the moment.

Couldn't agree more. The administrators of cricket in this state have disappointed for many, many years. As an Adelaide Oval member, the amenities and sporting fixtures the ground attracts are
very poor. I renewed again this year, but $300 for a test match and two one dayers is a bit rich. Next year I reckon I'll ditch it...

I ditched my about 5 years ago when they tried to charge me $300 (cant remember exactly the amount) as an admin fee for for my 16yo son to join. Yes, on top of the annual fee. I sent a letter to McLachlan and got a letter from Hitler in return. I had compared the cost of Football park and the MCG and the value for money. He told me that if I wanted to support cricket in Victoria, then I should consider my values in life. He's now on my shitlist in life and I dont mind telling people. I gave up a 30 year membership and told them what I thought. I note now that dont charge the admin fee. for kids so maybe it worked.
I agree - it is expensive and the facilities do not warrant the cost, but I always go to every day of the Ashes or Sud Afrika Test - one dayers - my lad enjoyed them - I dont - not real cricket - 20/20 - rather go and watch Kensington Baseball Club
