Grow Some Balls

Postby The Big Shrek » Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:48 am

The Australian cricketers need to grow some balls. David Hussey saying he thinks we can 'challenge' Sth Africa is pathetic. Just beat them ffs. They're the no 1 ranked side in the world and they just want to challenge teams! It's more girly and defeatist than the guy that played Federer last night and only won 5 points in the last set!

Ponting needs to grow some too. He is the biggest sook in the country at the moment. He should be happy, if he had been given out or caught instead of dropped everytime he should have been this summer he would have done worse than Hayden.

Bring back Hayden, give him the captaincy and **** Ponting back off to Tasmainia.

How many times has Ponting been dropped or wrongly given not out this summer? Every time he has made a score he should have been out at least twice. Hayden just kept getting unlucky.

Could've, should've but didn't or wasn't so we move on that is cricket. It isn't his fault they drop them or don't give him out.

You are right it is not his fault but he is still batting poorly, and worse than Hayden was.

At the risk of opening up another flood gate of tears, I'd be happy with that. :D

I don't think it is a captaincy issue I think it's up to our batters to start making some runs. It also doesn't help having a weak bowling attack.

The bowling isn't the main issue either, the batting has been absolute garbage.

My issue is with a nervous nobody like D Hussey acting like it's a good result if we 'challenge' Sth Africa. Ponting sooking all the time isn't much better. Just say, we underperformed in a couple of areas and weren't far of winning, we'll beat them next time. All the team is doing with their comments is feeding the confidence of the South Africans.

Only when his spot in the side was secure.
He batted like a nervous nelly when his spot was under threat.

I feel after the ashes ponting would step down to start the changing of the new guard. This can extend his career another 4 years.

From what I have observed over the past few years he isn't the greatest tactician and I think even though his batting averages have improved since he has taken over the captaincy, we could do with Michael Clarke taking over the reigns. Let's face it if Warnie hadn't been such an animal off the pitch he would've been captain and Punter wouldn't even have been given a look in! Look at what he has achieved without the use of Warn and Mcgrath....Absolute doughnuts!
I still believe he lost us the ashes series in 05 due to his poor captaincy.

Punter should just concentrate on his batting for the next 4 or so years.
