Thanks spelly. Still one of my all time favourite innings. Loved every second of it. Richie Richardson's ton was a great knock as well but pales into insignificance in comparison.

Being his first Test century, that's who he named his daughter after - the place he scored it.

I'm sure most on here have never heard of the NBA legend Alonzo Mourning but he too named his daughter Sydney due to being born while he was here competing at the 2000 Olympics and he actually flew back during it for the birth and then flew back here to go on and win gold with the USA team.

I'm pretty sure it was Michael Holding who first said that, while commentating one day. Deathly silence in the commentary box, followed by raucous background laughter. A true classic!

Yes it was Michael Holding in his deep West Indian voice. I thought the commentary box was going to burst they were trying not to laugh so much.

I think it was Clive Lloyd.

Then we may need to find out who said it first because I recall years ago at some function they crossed to Clive Lloyd for a tribute to someone like Steve Waugh or Alan Border etc, and that's when he dropped the line about Lara naming his daughter Sydney. Judging from the laughter, it was the first time people had heard it.

Get stuffed Ned. When are YOU going to post anything worth reading ... or are you too busy trying to "get a life"? What an original saying, did you think of that all on your own. Clever little boy.

Some good ones there.

Had a sportsmen night tonight for league medal presentations and had a large amount of guests including Gillespie, Bichel, Elliott, Rodney Hogg, Mo Matthews, Michael Dighton, Jason Gillespie, Corey Richards, Vimpani, Jimmy Maher and a few others.

Some of the Andrew Symonds stories were brilliant! Rodney Hogg was very funny as well along with some great 12th man stories from Andy Bichel.
