very early 20's he only turned 20 last week.

I think he will be promoted a little earlier than really hoped for as he could possibly play for 15 years.

Thats the beauty about him, his YOUNG and LONG term. We need someone that can be around for years and years and this guy can be the guy to do it.

No point bringing in Rogers, he will just be another Matty Hayden, but not as good!

Langer is 37 or 38

Rogers is about 30 - 32

He has been waiting in the wings and is in reasonably good form.

i just cant see them bringing in Rogers, no matter how many runs he has made. and he has made them at the right time too.

The selectors have been shaking things up in the last few months and i wouldnt be surprised if he might sneak in against south africa.

Well Phil Hughes made 93 today against Tassy who has hilfenhaus, geeves, denton in their attack (prob the best in the country) with NSW being bowled out for 172. Tas are 1/4 in response. Shows that the pitch is not the best for batters probably!
If he can get runs on bowling decks, that will enhance his rep more so then scoring big tons on flat decks! Hope too see him in national colours soon.

The only spot in the order that I can see the selectors making a change in the next 3 test matches is number 6.

Hayden won't retire before the end of the South African series and he won't be dropped.

i think matty really needed to make runs in Adelaide. but i am guessing his goal is to play in England and give up after that.

The difference is that when Healy was forced out Australia were easily better than anyone else and had a heap of experience and even more talent. The side was so stable and it was an easier decision to discard such an experienced and talented player. Same decision is not as easy to make now.
