Tasmania are a very well drilled unit in the shortened form of the game and will be hard to stop pulling on the Franger again. Even rotund skipper Danny Marsh pulled off an excellent one handed catch to dismiss Bull veteran Clinton Perren. Young Dane Anderson batting at three can hit a ball but needs to learn how to rotate the strike. My man Timmy Paine had another solid game and Hilfenhaus bowled superbly and sconned Lee Carseldine with a beauty in the morning session.

The Bulls have unearthed a young talent in Moller but the loss of Love, Maher, Kasprowicz and Bichel will leave them in the ranks of the also-rans this season, despite the acquisition of Harris. Carlesdine at number 3 with Noffke at 8 is also a puzzling decision as is the selection of Chris Simpson as skipper ahead of the more experienced man in Perren. Roy looked miles off it today as well. You could tell he wasn't going to get off the mark and duly delivered with a soft dismissal against the rapildy improving Xavier Doherty, another Tiger who had a top day out at the Gabba.

And to think some posters wanted the Bulls to get two points.
