i love the redbacks, get so frustrated with results. What can we assume their starting XI for this season will be?

Harris, Klinger, Khan, Cossie, Ferguson, C. Borgas (?), Manou, Bailey (Rofe), Cleary (wise), Cullen, Tait

Anyone I'm missing? - where does O'Brien fit in? One day specialist?

Khan misses the first game due to Pakistan commitments.

Wise and Rofe are similar type of bowlers I think so I reckon its between those two for the other openers spot, with Clearly 1st change Bailey and DC for the spin options and Cossie to be the 4th med on the flat tracks with one of Bails/DC to miss out on the juicy decks plus another quick

wise and rofe are similar. Wise is left arm and bowls innies to the right hander, cleary is right arm and hits the seam. I think wise will play

team IMO will be
Harris, Klinger, C borgas, Ferguson, Cosgrove, Christian/Obrien (depending on pitch), Manou, Cleary, Cullen, Wise, Tait.

Kahn cant come soon enough

Are you sure Heater? I watched an interview with Manou on C31 on the weekend and there was no mention that Younis would not be starting the first game.

Younis, though, is likely to miss the opening game of the Redbacks' Sheffield Shield campaign, starting on October 14 against Victoria at the Adelaide

and stumps Wise/Rofe similar in height and pace is what I probably should have said being a left handed bowler myself I'm biased to put Wise in now

yeah i read something from manou the othr day and he said younis would be right for teh first game- pakistan ahve a 20/20 match against canada or something like that on the 12th of october- presuming he flys here straight away he should play the shield match

no offence intended but how can a player who got dropped last season- start asking what number they will bat
you would think kahn will be number 3 anyway

he can always ask but shall he receive.........well that is up to the coaching staff/selectors. Khan will be our best bat and I subscribe to the theory that the best batsman in the team should bat at 4 but that's just me

apparantly has had a very good off season, lost weight spent a lot of hours in front of the bowling machine and has gained a yard or two for his mediums, he will bat at three in the first match. if he makes runs then anything is possible.
Last year he was thrown around alot, this year sorell has to settle him down in spot and stick to it

Cosgrove not in selected squad for trial games according to today's paper.
O'Brien and Cooper are - you have to be kidding me!!!!
The bloke has played for Australia, give him a chance

I agree he needs the opportunity to prove himself again and i hope he gets it sooner rather than later otherwise he may move on.

I think there is more to the Cosgrove story than SACA is telling us.
In one corner you have Cosgrove and his supporters saying he is fitter than ever, spending hours and hours in front of the bowling machine, along with attending all the bowling training. Then in the other corner you have the SACA selectors, who still haven't picked him in an initial squad of 16, despite all this hard effort and work? :?

It is difficult to tell which party is causing the indifference...

Good point blink. He may be best served by just doing and not talking. Get some early runs on the board in District and 2nd XI Cricket and be selected that way.

There is more to the story.

Cossie has some mending to do, some people have put their necks on the line for him over the years.

I'll stick up for Cossie here, he trained with our A Grade all year during the footy season, never shirked an issue, if we ran, he did it all with us. Was working really hard. Top bloke too.

I obviously don't know what goes on behind closed doors at Adelaide Oval, but I can say from what I saw, he was working his ass off.

Although, I went to his b'day bash in May or June, and he was in good nick that night

Was a once off though.
