The boy is grinding out the hundreds for Netherfield in the Northen Premier League in England. Take a look at his season stats including his bowling efforts. It may not be county cricket but runs are runs and he's making heaps of them. Hopefully he can continue for a good year with the Backs this year.....

Should be able to score more runs this year when playing grade cricket now that he is off that mine field of Prospect Oval every 2nd week

137 the highest he could score in six centuries... you'd want to see a couple of really big scores?

Would love to see Ferguson bat at 4 this year and consolidate his position in the side by averaging in the early 40's. Unlikely, but would be great to see.

mal has summed him up perfectly with the Callum "Frustration" moniker. He just keeps showing how much talent he has but never goes on with it. It has to be a mental thing cos he is good enough.

i'd take 65 every day of the week compared to Kahns efforts so far . They'd have to be the most Expensive runs in Aussie cricket history. May as well pay Dizzy to come back as a specialist batsman and he would probably throw in a few overs as well for FREE.

Pretty damning stat that one. To get to fifty that many times but only convert into a ton twice is terrible. Has to be a mental thing surely.

That is one of the worst conversion rates I can remember seeing!!

I accept all the above points but why is everyone bagging him for doing ok. If the other top 5 batsmen pulled their weight and averaged 40-50, there wouldn't be the negative focus on him. Give the lad some credit, he's one of the very few young batsmen in this state showing some promise in difficult times. Is probably more in the spotlight now since DUDS like Elliott and Adcock, the underperforming Cossie and the CHAMPs in BOOF and DIZZIE have departed.
Having said that, YES it is frustrating that he isn't converting his starts into TONS but maybe it's just not that easy considering one of the so-called best batsmen in the world cant even get to double figures in the same team.

I am not questioning his place in the side at all. He is one of the more consistent players we have and he clearly has talent. This is the reason for the frustration. Whilst he is doing alright currently he is capable of doing so much more.

Who should be in the side instead? DON'T say Cosgrove either. I would rather have a bloke getting starts and making opportunities to convert to bigger scores than a bloke who struggles to make it through a session.

FFS Cosgrove has the best FC batting average in the side behind Younis. He should be in the side, no doubt about it
