46TH OVER WI V AU O/DAY GAME

46.1
EDWARDS TO SYMONDS
Full Roy smashes an off drive and caught at mid off OUT

46.2
EDWARDS TO JIMMMMMEH HOPES
Short Jimmmeh miscues a hook , caught at mid wicket OUT

46.3
EDWARDS TO THE DAVE
The Dave on debut is nearing a debut 50[which he does make]
Fidel is on a hat trick
NO BALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
The Dave drives to mid off for 1

46.3 ?
EDWARDS TO RONCHI
becoz of the no ball is Edwards still on a hat trick ????????????????????????
FREE HIT
Fluke Ronchi does it again
On debut 2 matches ago he gets a caught behind when keeping off the first ball he kept to in o/d International cricket !
Now Fluke faces a free hit with the first ball he ever faces in his o/d International career
Edwards bowls a full length
Fluke cover drives and is Caught But heez not out its a FREE HIT !
Fluke !

QUESTION
In a o/d game you cant get a hat trick after a no ball becoz of the free hit
BUT
If it was a Test match with a no ball on a hat trick, can the bowler still get the hat trick next ball ?
If not should it be construed as a hat trick ?
Essentially a no ball is a non delivery so should it not be be counted at all ?

?

NO in my book to get an individual hat trick you must take 3 wickets in succession without conceding a run. Edwards bowled a no ball an illegal delivery and therefore conceded a run

No. Chris Old took 4 wickets in 5 balls in 1978 against Pakistan at Birmingham. The third ball in this sequence was a no-ball, and is not recognised as a hat-trick (or double hat-trick)
