The roller used for the pitch prep in Perth is under investigation for being too heavy. The Indians want it weighed and recalibrated to make sure it weighs in at the specific amount...
Also the sight screen is actually 3% off the colour white, and the Indians want it repainted as they have trouble seeing Brett Lee coming in of his long run up bowling thunderbolts..
The Kookaburra symbol on the ball is a sacred symbol in Indian mythology and also represents a beer that they brew. They want is banned unless they can get paid endorsements paid Cricket Australia..

FFS It's a game...get on with it...

and they didn't like that either  They insisted that the grounds keeper was not to water the ground at all during the Sydney Test. Lucky there was a bit of rain otherwise the whole outfield would've died off.

There's not much doubt that the Indian action is regrettable, over-the-top and fairly silly.

However, I don't think the current situation is just about this particular issue, but whether we like it or not, the Australian cricket team is widely seen around the world as arrogant, a charge I have to agree with to some extent. When you're comfortably the best in the world, you have a wonderful opportunity to be regarded with admiration and respect, not just as a hard-nosed, but arrogant team.

Especially when you're playing the only game in the world whose rules start with a preamble about sportsmanship being the over-riding factor in the rules of the game, there are plenty of people who see Australia's lack of humility and boorish behaviour at times as disappointing.

Now I'm sure this will be regarded as being old-fashioned and it probably is, but decades of cricketers didn't find it necessary to act like a few of the current lot. Then again, they played to represent their country and weren't millionaires.

As for umpires, I think they do a pretty good job. It's not easy and there certainly were 2 or 3 wrong decisions this time. I'm amazed how many times they get it right. When they do, they only get a grudging nod of approval from the commentators. Perhaps the commentators should say what their decision would have been before they look at 5 or 6 slow-motion replays. I suspect they'd get it wrong far more often.

India's action is a sad day for the game of cricket. I know I'll get criticised for these supposedly out-of-date views, but the cricketers I admire are the ones who can perform without the histrionics.

And yes, I've played enough cricket to have a view.

Hear Tim Lane sum it up beautifully, stating when he was a child his father told him, the umpire is always right, even when he is wrong, think that says it all

Well im surprised they didnt send senil Gaviskar out to mediate, thats pretty much what they would normally do.
Well Harbijang the whinger will get off. But if he does the ICC should remember this as the next tour you can see whats going to happen.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards
