It is time for the ICC to take control in world cricket

Postby Killa » Mon Jan 07, 2008 3:20 pm

It is time the ICC take control of this know before cricket suffers with the asian cricket team arrogants, they think they run it with there big money. ICC should follow FIFA role by ban all nations from international cricket who govenment interferring in there national teams interest. For example India.

Haven't seen any sour graps like this when Adelaide lost 6-0 in the grand final.

For example indians have to much to say. have a look at this came from foxsports.

Bhajji has not said anything racial to Andrew symonds. The match refree Mike Proctor by declaring Bhajje as racial has created a racial controversy. Mike must be punished and imposed a life ban.

In view of the farse in the second test match and ugly cricket played by the austrialians, Indian board should pull back their team from australia and severe all cricketing realtionships with theam. Australians must be banned from playing cricket for next two years in all international level by ICC. Austrilians should not be allowed to bring the glorious game of cricke to any more disrepute. They must be taught moral lessons and righteousness and asked to do public service like public toilet cleaning. Cheaters are punished under law. And if you are cheating in the full view of 100 crore people we can’t allow it. They are Australian crickets are criminals in the view of hundred crore Indians. If they go out of the stadium they could be arrested for con’ing the Indian team and the whole world.

While Ricky Ponting, Mathew Clarke and Andrew Symonds have brought the game of cricket to direpute by their dubious acts, the umpire Steve Buknor and Mark Benson have conspired against team India and Indian Nation. All the five of them should be permanently banned from cricket for rest of their lives.

Ponting should have stop his chat with that journalist and follow the lead of our AFL coaches and don't answer all the questions which are not relevant. ICC needs to ban these people out of press conferences.

Everyone is allowed their say, we are all having one on here - no different in my view.

But your point about Government interference may be valid. But to what point? When (if) the Australian Government bans the Australian cricket team from touring Pakistan, is that Government interference?

That is not the only one plenty others around the world

Governments shouldn't make the team not go to pakistan. This is where ICC should stand up and say if it is safe and not move it to a neutral venue.

Wouldn't be too many test nations left if you removed all who were being effected by the government.

The ICC are caught in a corner here. The Asian block of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh hold all the power. If the ICC does anything to upset the Asian apple cart then they will take the bat and ball and form a rival cricket league similar to the twenty20 leagues. Why do you think that a certain bowler from this region is still allowed to bowl and claim a world record :-k .

also with most of the test playing nations based in the southern hemisphere they share the ideal seasonal times to play cricket. If this block of 4 team up with one other southern hemisphere nation (looks to South Africa 8-[ ) Australia could be forced to tour away from home during our peak season.

It is time the ICC stood up to the BCCI and put them in their place. The BCCI doesn't run the game, the ICC runs the game.

Yeah, the ICC runs the game, sure. Guess where from? ICC HQ is now in Dubai.

No doubt the aussies have pushed the envelope and picked the wrong team to do it "against" - notwithstanding the allegations made by Symonds. The indians have certainly had a dummy spit though - can't see them threatening to walk out of Davis Cup or the Commonwealth Games in similar circumstances and demanding new referees/judges.

I think it implausible for Proctor to reach his conclusion. Imagine if he was charged with killing Bob Woolmer during the recent world cup and there were 2 defence witnesses and 5 prosecution witnesses but no categoric evidence, and he was found guilty and sentenced to a term of imprisonment in a Caribbean prison? I reckon he would appeal.
