Yes, the Aussies should be able to take it when people fight back verbally.
But racial insults are another thing entirely. The fact is, if Ricky Ponting had called someone a 'monkey', he would have received the same treatment as Singh.
This is not a clash of cultures - there should be no racism on the field.

Not making light of that incident (or racism in general) but being called black, when you are, is the offensive part? What about being called a c*&t?
It's difficult to put oneself in the shoes of someone being racially vilified, given I am white and live in a majority white society - it surely must get tiresome, no matter the word used. It's the intent behind it that is offensive.
