Harbajhan reported

Has been reported under section 3.3 of the code of conduct.
Basically it appears as though Harbajhan has allegedly vilified Andrew Symonds in some way. The thinking of most is that he has allegedly used the word "monkey" when referring to Symonds.
Look for him to get away with it as India hold too much power and there will be all kinds outcry from the subcontinent if he is suspended.

Im not really sure what was said, but when ponting come in things looked very serious. Tendulker who is probably one of the most respected cricketers on and off the field was trying to mediate things but something was definitly said.
I really dont know what to make of it. India is aways around when there is contraversy. But still until we are made away of what is actully said we cant really hang him just yet.

Exactly lets not start a witch hunt until we know some facts (Not say you are RR). Singh has told the Indian camp he did not abuse Symonds racially and they will stick by him until the end so look for this to be mediated in some way.
Faces a suspension if found guilty, which would create quite a stir.

Depends what he said though. Having a go is one thing but there is a line that should never be crossed and if he crossed it (and that is IF) then he needs to be punished accordingly.

Saying to someone "did that bat come with instructions" as opposed to "hey you <insert racist slur here> " then there is a pretty big difference.

What is racism?
Calling Symonds a monkey, muri a chucker - is this racism?
I have been called a monkey in the past for doing stupid things. It is really is hard to interpret racism I believe.
Symonds is my favourite player by a mile, and calling him a monkey is obviously referring to his looks. Is this the same if somebody called Cosgrove a fat pig is this racist. It is referring to his appearance just like a monkey is to Symonds. Would this be racism towards Cossie.
What are your thoughts?

The way I read it RL is that the Monkey slur is the same as what has happened in football in Europe for the African players.
Monkey chants, calling etc referring to the Negro race.
Defiantly a racist slur.
Calling Murali a chucker isn't racist it's the truth ! Chucker does not refer to race/religion as neither does calling Cosgrove a pig.
Any racist/religious slur is no go IMO.

Who Gives a Shit what is said out in the middle?
FFS They are all grown men out there, Forget about it and just get on with the game.
I was told as a child about sticks and stones etc. and Not caring about what people say to me has held me in good stead so why are international (Show Pony) cricketers any different ??
Storm in a Tea cup as far as i'm concerned that should be left to the umpires on the field to control if it gets out of hand and thats where it should end.

for years the aussies have been having a verbal crack at the opposition, in the heat of a battle sum unwarranted things get said, leave things in the middle of the oval

is it a case of the turbinator giving our boys some of their own medicine? if so our guys should know better, however this bloke has a rep for being a pain in the arse, as for calling roy a monkey, does he really care? do we have to lower ourselves and be precious about what someone calls you, lets fly in the face of current squaking about racism and cop it sweet and just laugh at the losers

That's racism .... calling someone a name based on or meant to bring attention to their race / colour of their skin
"Fat barstard" is fatism

If that was said, the Indians would not have hesitated to play the race card.
Why should Symonds be expected to put up with such comments if others aren't?
Fair enough, leave sledging on the field. But racial abuse is different.

If dickhead Singh is found guilty, then the book has to be thrown at him, and a heavy fine should be handed to the BCCI for bringing the game into disrepute. The ICC has to stand up to the BCCI and do what is just.
Remember Lehmann got 6 ODI's for less a few years ago.

Lehmann probably got what he deserved Bruce.
I'm a fan of the man, don't get me wrong, but his choice of words and location when he made those comments was very poor.

let's not forget this latest incident is right on the coat-tails of Indian crowds sledging Symonds in the same manner- surely enough's enough?
Fair enough that he's making a stand- at least CA won't just deny it happend (ala BCI)
