Make that 6/33

Cook 13
Vaughan 1
Bell 1
Pietersen 1
Collingwood 0*
Bopara 0*

Chaminda Vaas makes 90 b4 throwing his wicket away when he never looked likely to get out.
Less than an Hour later, Same Ground, Same Pitch, England are 6/37 off 11.3 overs.

Can't see much more play there today. Covers are being brought on in anticipation of a huge amount of rain.

Still dont think he will be around much longer. Look at how the Australians treated him, and that will happen every time away from home.

England need to have a good hard look at things, The only player that can hold his head up from this tour is Ian Bell who IMO is going to be their best player for the next 10 years or at least most consistent. Today he was unlucky witrh Cook making a horrible mess of a call only for Bell to be run out at the other end. Kevin Pieterson seems disinterested, Hoggard is a work horse only, and Harmison is very hit and miss.

A honourable mention should go to Prior as well.

Brilliant patient double hundred by Jayawardene, while i dont like the way they go about their (Sri Lanka not These 2) cricket, no doubting him and Kumar are terrific world class batsmen.

. Kevin Pieterson seems disinterested
pretty harsh on KP i think. in the first test he got out to a good ball from murali for 31 and the second innings he got 1 and got out to a grubber from fernando. the second test he got out to a dubious catch by sangakkara for 1 and in the second innings got 45 not out and helped the poms get a draw. and in the 3rd test got a an apsolute cracker from Malinga.

I was reading today that if the lankins can beat england today then they become the 2nd ranked test playing nation. To me that maybe dosent sound right but then again england were number 2 and the way they have performed lately well I guess its probably right. Good luck to the Sri lankans if thats the case.

KP
1000 runs for the calender year
And I believe this to be correct the equal fastest ENG batsman to 3000 runs ?
KP + Herbie Sutcliffe have done it in only 33 tests
