Come on play the 4 quicks!!!!

Understand the variation argument, but basically going with the heart and want to see at least 1 South Australian in the side.

Not sure what the MCG track will be like, has been very slow this year so far, the test track the last couple of years has a fair bit in it on day one. My opinion would be win the toss and bowl with four quicks. No point playing Hogg cause he isnt up too it.

Normally I'd say play the spinner but in this case I think we'd get better value out of Tait as 4th quick (or is it Johnson as 4th  )

I am also not convinced on Hogg at test level but it looks like he has definitely improved since he last played

Australia only has 2 Test class spin bowlers. 1 is retired and the other is injured. No point in playing a spinner if they are not good enough. Good luck to Hogg if he plays but IMHO he won't cause the Indians too many problems.

All the speculation has been who out of Tait/Johnson/Hogg will be named 12th man for the Boxing Day Test.

I was wondering whether the selectors (based on our strong batting performance against Sri Lanka) might decide to drop a batsman and play Hogg, along with four quicks....

Jaques
Hayden
Ponting
Hussey
Clarke
Gilchrist
Hogg
Lee
Johnson
Clark
Tait

I personally would like to see Symonds stay in the side - but maybe this could be the preferred option of the selectors??? Just a thought.

Symonds' presence in the side as a 4th seamer starts to make me thing Hogg will play actually

Last time they tried Gilly at 6 it didn't work so well I don't think they'd do that
