We beat WA without him!

He will surely get a gig now, he is in brilliant form. It's only a Twenty20 match but that was a wonderful first over, he didn't even bowl a wide which hit the fence either!

Clark won't get dropped from the Test team, he's been one of the best bowlers in world cricket since debuting!

The drop in pitches have been slow bunsens all year, a spinner is a must at the G this year.

Probably the best performed fast bowler in the world since debuting
Suggest anyone who doubts this to check his record
A record that far exceeds Brett Lees efforts in the corresponding period

Disagree, was poor against Sri Lanka but before that you can not fault him IMO.

They will not drop Johnson IMO, they will either play 4 paceman or Tait will miss out, i just dont see how they can justify dropping Johnson after so little time, he also was very servicable. I think the 4 man pace attack would be more likely.

I hear what you saying Pup and I agree it would be stiff* on the boy if he missed out but at the minute Tait is on fire bowling GOOD heat and the Indians have never been good at playing pace bowling.

You have to ask yourself who would the Indians rather face ATM Tait or Johnson???

Kasper was bowling well in 99-00 (7 wickets in Perth) got the big catch up when the selectors went for this young kid bowling serious heat from NSW

As IAn Chappell says when you got 'em (them being fast bowlers) you play them as no batsman likes heat....

If thats the way you wanna go then since they dont play the pace well, then why not play all 4 and leave Hogg out.

Becasue the Melbourne pitch is a turner with low bounce ATM, we need a spinner. I was of the same opinion 4 quicks until the reports on teh Melb pitch came through

Johnson only got his debut because Tait was injured. He's done alright filling in but now the man is back it's time to step aside Mitch.....

The thing I've noticed with Tait this summer is that he seems to be bowling with a lot more control. The ball seems to be going where he wants it to go. I am of the opinion you pick your Best XI and Tait is in our Best XI. He is a better bowler than Johnson. Having said that I can't see Johnson getting dropped. I think they will include Tait and go in with a 4 prong pace attack.

If Hoggy & MacGill aren't fit anyway there is no other spinner in the country good enough to be playing test cricket at this point in time.

Great, who's the spinner?
No really who's the spinner. Well I guess its Hogg by default

would have gone with the 4 quickies myself now with Hogg injured as has been said there just is no-one else good enough, I think Roy and Pup can probably do a good enough job with their spinners in any case, bring those quickies on I say
