NS V SA O/D GAME 9/12/07 + gossip

Postby mal » Thu Dec 06, 2007 12:22 am

NS V SA at Wollongong.
Rain derailed the winning streak v QL
We now play NSW who are going for about 12 straight losses in the Franger Cup
Despite that NSW had the gaul to not contract Dan Christain, a player whom I said
last year had the potential to represent Australia one day.

Tait will need to be replaced as AU are playing NZ 11/12/07
Cleary if fit would be a logical replacement

OTHER GOSSIP

JUSTIN LANGER
Justin langer has become WA highest rungetter beating Tom Moodys 8853 runs
The little champ keeps on keeping on.

BIGGEST DIFFERENCE IN BATTING AVERAGES BETWEEN FIRST HALFS OF CAREERS
+2ND HALFS OF CAREERS OF ALL TEST PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED 15+ TEST INNINGS

Our very own Matt Herb Elliott has this distinction

YEAR..................INNS......RUNS.....AVE
1996-1997...........17.........850.......53-12
1997-2004...........19.........322.......16-94

COACH 2007-2008 [or just after]

Dont be surprised if Darren Boofman is approached
Why not
The scorer of the most p/cup runs 14388
Averaged 50+ v all states
And after those last 2 digs he has left us all wanting more

Dan Christian is French? Redbacks in a canter. The runKat is a tactical retard. Should have given the gig to Braddin.

Could this be the 2nd lot of points NSW get this season in the Franger Cup ?
The last one was in a rain affected draw with VIC !

Edited for accuracy. ;)

I think there's a lesson to be learnt from this match/lack of match - if you're going to schedule matches in country venues, the drainage should also be taken into account when selecting venues. Though I'm not sure how many venues outside metro areas do have a decent amount of drainage; there has got to be better places than that.

Even if this fell on any major venue three days ago, the venue would be ready. The rain fell in the 24 hours to Thursday morning - 81.6 millimetres at Wollongong. Another 6 millimetres fell to 9am yesterday.

I think Wollongong is below sea level so drainage takes a bit longer than normal

So they said on the ABC radio today ....

If you get 11 inches in 3 days it's going to take a while to come up, City or Country you twats. Don't blame the country for it raining flat out for 3 days. 11 inches is a lot, ask AG's mrs...... :D

AG would be making love 15 times !!!!

The drainage system at Wollongong is worse than most other grounds ?
Its a very big oval and that might be the reason
As said on the radio today.

It's right next to the coast, the oval is.

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?oe=UTF-8&hl=en&tab=wl&q=

I doubt places like the Gabba (just an example) would be unsuitable after that much rain a few days - the best grounds would surely be able to be ready after three days.

No wonder we are duds. We have an excellent venue in North Sydney Oval where we go all right but Cricket NSW wants us to play all over the place. Er...let's just get the side winning again before taking the show on the road.

Go back to North Sydney!
