shield, yes at the end of the season the pura cup is no more & will resort back to WHAT IT SHOULD BE the sheffield shield & i hope if they get another sponsor it'll have 'the sheffield shield' in the name

TOO often these days traditional names are changed in the chase of a few bucks..

Here's hoping they start using the actual shield as the prize as well. One of the great trophy's in sport. It is magnificent.

I read about this a week ago, i think sponorship may have already been sorted out, the title will have a combination of the sponsor name and SHEFFIELD SHIELD as well.

I understand from Pura Milk's point of view why they didn't want to have "Sheffield Shield" incorporated but i cannot understand why the cricket authorities didn't insist and accept less money to ensure "Sheffield Shield" stayed.

Something with as much tradition as the Sheffield Shield should not have been dropped for a brand name on a carton of milk

Keeping the Brand name & the Sheffield Sheild is the best of both worlds
