Thankyou Boof for the entertainment you have given me over the last 20 years.

The most innovative and creative player i have ever been privileged to see. What a shame his career had to end the way it has.

Boof...good enough to be a New South Welshmen. A typically brilliant penultimate match for a true SA champion. =D>

How good was he last night! You will never see a batsman quite like him again! Let's not forget Herb either - great work to both the lads!

I echo your thoughts Shark Hunter I just wish I could have seen most of it.

There is not enough appreciation that I can express for hte great man named Darren Lehmann. Sad days for SA cricket will only be sadder without him batting anymore.

Rod Marsh is just bitter because David Boon is a better drinker than him, Ian Healy is a better keeper than him and his son is a better bloke than him.

Best SA batsman of the last 25 years and the best I've seen. A good bloke to talk to and genuine mans man. Whn he got going nothing good stop him and his inventiveness at teh crease was a real key to his game to through bowlers ff their line.

Unfortunately he didn't realise the change in ethos when it comes to preparing for international cricket until it was too late. Played far less international cricket than he should. If only he trained as hard as he did when I saw him with the Australian team in 2003 and 2004 in Darwin for his entire career he could be retiring as one of Australia's greatest ever batsmen.

it is also a pity he didn't maintain those standards over the past two years in charge of the SACAs as the results could have been so much different.

I just wonder if he'll look back in 10 years and say "if only I' but being the sort of bloke that he is and his attitude to cricket I doubt it

It's all been said here, but congrats Boof, and thanks for years of entertainment ... Started at a time when most punters followed the shield closely, and it wasn't just the diehards that remain today ... He started with "special" wraps and didn't disappoint ... I didn't think anyone could ever match my childhood favourite Hookesy, but Boof has done it.
