He struggles at state level ATM, cant take wickets and is not a batsmen and now you want him to be captain?

I still think Adcock is the right man for the job.

OK, he could have stood up a bit better with the bat in both innings, but remember it was his first match as captain and you can only p*ss with the d*ck you've got, meaning that the blame doesn't lay soley on his performance, there were many others who played poorly. Once the guiding hand of Lehmann returns to the side, I think he'll be fine.

Obviously Lehmann is the right man, but he no longer wishes to be captain. Actually don't know why he was included on the poll list??

Lets not get too excited about Boof we don't know how much of the season he will be injured for so we would have needed a replacement for some or most of the season anyway

Adcock still the right call IMO and 1 match is too quick to judge him. Lets face it the whole team was out of sorts ...... as we were last year under Boof :-k

They gave the captaincy to the guy who averaged the most runs for SA
in the 2006-2007 Pura Cup 2006-2007 season
In actual fact no-one deserves to be the skipper
Someone had to do it
I wont criticise ADCOCK until he is given a decent balanced bowling attack

Personally I would have reappointed Lehman as the man, and working under him as vice would have been Cam Borgas as a future captain. Simple as that.

Still dont know where they pulled Adcock from as skipper and where they pulled Sorell from.

Bad start to season when those appointments made. All i can remember Adcock doing last season was play a few good 1 day games.

One news report tonight pointed out how shabby the SA coaching panel is.
Sorell and bowling coach only played district level.
Fielding coach is a former district keeper who couldnt quite crack state level.
Who the F*** appointed these blokes.

U obviously know f*** all about these blokes' coaching backgrounds then! Would hardly say John Buchanan set the world on fire as a player but no one can dispute his success as a coach.

You can't polish a turd....

i.e. no matter how good a coach you are if you have limited resources to play with i.e. only 6 first class cricketers you are always going farting against thunder....

Mickey Mouse or Humphrey B Bear, they might get some runs as well.

Unless we can pin-point specific decisions Adcock did or didn't make as Captain that caused the loss, we need to look critically at all 11 players not just Adcock's captaincy as tho a different captain would have made any difference to the result :?

SA need an established player as Captain, whats wrong with Dizzy as skipper, fast bowlers have done the job before.

None of the other names mentioned previously (Borgas, Cullen etc) have a decent record yet and the top job will kill their careers.

For all we know they did offer it to Dizzy and he politely refused. Some prefer to lead by example for their chosen spot in the side not with a (c) next to their name on the teamsheet.
