I cannot believe it.
Shane Watson has injured his hamstring!
I won't believe it until I see it for myself [-( =;

Brings an interesting question up about his future doesn't it?

Its a chance WATTO has to take
There is no future if he bowls and continues to break down
His career will finish much sooner than later
He MUST give up bowling
By becoming a batsman only he gives himself a future if he bats well
HAYDEN will retire soon so there are 2 opening spots up for grabs in the near future

He lasted 18 balls in his first game back.... :butthead: ](*,) #-o
The next time he bowls should be Lawn Bowling

I agree it's a chance he has to take. He has no future as a bowler or allrounder. I do think he could perform well at International level as a batsman but IMHO there are too many others who could perform better than him if given the same opportunities.

Surely you don't believe Watto could make the Australian side as a batsman alone

He has been given an arm chair ride as an all rounder

he would not in the top 12 batsmen in the country

Sounds like Bruce Reid all over again.

Merely suggesting he concentrates on batting with QLD or AUS if picked
If he makes runs for QLD he will be under consideration
If he is gifted a spot in the AUS team he will need to perform

SD
Be careful with the top 12 batsman
The openers spot is up for grabs
JAQUES is too loose
ROGERS is too dour
WATSON can attack or defend and might be the option as an opener
Dont forget he has made 200 in a shield final .....[and retired hurt !!!!!]

Quite a few has beens in that lot
Some on your list are far better but no hope of playing for AU these days
Nearly all of them are older than WATSON

I cannot believe the amount of people on the ROGERS bandwagon
He is toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo slow a batsman
He is about 30 and would be a poor investment

Yeah there is mal, but i think most of them would still be better options than Watson playing as a batsman only.

Who do you think is best option to open with Hayden given your lack of confidence in Rogers to do the job? I recall he scored a 230 or so in a game against the Aussie in a lead up game in the last Ashes series, i think hes a better option than Jacques despite being a couple of years younger.

I know the selectors pick him, but they don't make him bowl, that would be the Captain.

You mention the wattostrings there Mal, also include a shoulder, 2 back strains and a soft rooster..

He has to bowl other wise he will be a shield/county player for the rest of his career and he knows it.
