Vaughan averaged 54.6 for the year in 6 matches (1-100s, 2-50s)
Did anyone do better as an opener??

Michael vaughan didnt open. Cook and Strauss have been opening the batting. He did play half of those tests against the West Indies too. I thought Chanderpauls effort in england would have been worth a spot in the team before Vaughan.
