Part of the greatness of these games is the human drama associated with it. Every game, there are players playing for their career. Some survive, some don't.
Until this year, although I haven't said much about it, I haven't rated Watson much, but I now find I love watching him bat. Ditto Hauritz, where I'm with REB in seeing his improvement almost innings by innings. Every one wanted Hussey's blood and he's responded. He was dropped 3 times by the keeper, other innings he's been given out wrongly. That's Test cricket.
To those who downgrade some performances in this game because Pakistán ''choked'', you're on the wrong track. It took belief, patience and strong minds, as well as talent, to win this game. Pakistan were made to choke from a position where it shouldn't have been a possibility.

Bcos they've bowled to Aussie batsmen that usually can actually bat MAL.
Cant be that hard to get wickets at the SCG, didn't a bloke called Border that in all honesty could be described as an average net bowler at best get 7 wickets in an innings once.![]()
And a bloke called Clarke got 6/9 once as a part timer.
Hauritz bowls steady and good on him for woteva success he gets.

Great post. I am well known for my dislike of Watto but i can appreciate how well he's playing. I have always known he was good with the bat but i didn't think he'd ever be good enough to play purely as a batsman. He has proven me wrong and i am glad he's limited his bowling to avoid injury. I really think he should give the bowling away completely though as he has his spot as a batsman cemented and he is just too injury prone to risk it.
Again very good post redandblack![]()
PS - I still think Watto's a w*nker.

Former Pakistan coach Geoff Lawson was on ABC radio the other day, and he said he couldn't believe Yousuf was named captain. He said Misbah-ul-Haq would have made a far better skipper.

Not sure what value i'd place on Geoff Lawson's opinion to be honest. He would have a fair insight though.
