Just based on the 2nd and 3rd Tests, Panesar is a far superior bowler, just as good as a batsman, AND and better fielder than Giles. What was England thinking???!!!

agree to a certain point

but the time to be chipy is when the contest is in the balance, when the game needs to be won, when the heat is on, that's the time to be heard, to be verbal, to demostrate that the Aussies have an opposition

I respect Pieterson, I love his agression with the bat, but thier is no point to start flapping your gums, when your two nil down in the series, already trailing by 150 runs

he should of been at Hayden from first ball after tea, in his ear from Gully, no point cranking this up in the 2nd last over of the day, when the contest is almost behond them and the series is on it's last breath, that carries no weight at all

May I remind you of the two days you spent criticising Pontings captaincy the day after we won the first test?

Poor chatter indeed.

Whats the captaincy got to do with attacking batsmen :?: :?: :?: :?:

PS Mate occasionally Im wrong I can admit it.
When I r.....d 1,000 women in 3 years I remember one of them said I was only bad
If your wondering about the relevance of those women to attacking cricket, its about
the same as your captaincy comments.

Pieterson has a remarkably good record v Australia because he takes up the challenge
and attacks , and is making many runs against our powerhouse attack...why change!

Symonds 2/8 what an allrounder
Flintoff fails AGAIN with the bat[lucky hes a great bowler]
Clark takes more wickets than Lee AGAIN

We should lead by 400 =a certain win by late day 4

listen to a ponting interview earlier in the week

he said that Ponting the Captain and Ponting the player are two different cricketers

what he was basically saying, when he's batting, his sole focus is as a batsman and what he needs to do to get on top of the bowling and to post a big score, while the role of Captain is when the side is fielding, at training or in the sheds

not to mention, I believe I am about the only person (just a few of us) who have been calling for Roy's inclusion from day 1, even prior to the series start

Bollocks. He was out thought by a guy playing his first Ashes test on day one and was gifted two wickets by blokes who have averaged this series what Roy has done over his career. Can never knock his fielding though with ten snaffles from his first ten tests which is pretty good for a non slipper. Some people are easily impressed.

Outstanding young man well put.
The worst commentator since....since...well, no one really. Patronising, bitter over opinionated ex player who can't help but shrill with glee when The Australian team or Gilly makes a mistake. To think that someone in the 9 network actually picks this twisted little gongbeater to beat his ever increasing spiteful drum is beyond comprehension.

FLINTOFF captain ?

They tried a similar ilk of player 20 years ago called Ian BOTHAM.
BOTHAM captained his team and his legendary match winning feats
vrs Australia subsided, when relinquished the captaincy he dominated.

FLINTOFF a handy batsman has struggled on wonderful batsman friendly pitches
His scores are
0
16
38*
2
13

As a speciallist batsman not good enough
He needs to be a freewheeling player without the resposibility of being a captain
As a bowler he is very good.

STRAUSS
---------
12
11
14
34
42

Is actually batting quite well and has made 76 unbeaten runs in his last 2 digs.
Has been ripped of those 2 digs by incompetent umpiring mistakes.
Can improve
What about the shocker MCGRATH copped as well!

S.CLARK
-----------

14 Wickets @ 17-07
No coincidence that 2 big English collapses of late started when he bowled first up
on those mornings[adel day5 + perth day 2]
Continues to outperform his more accoladed fast bowling team-mates

SYMONDS/LEE
-----------------

Loveable character, did we see his fielding yesterday
Get him averaging say 30 with the bat + 35 with the ball and we have a handy
allrounder, his presence allows his more famed bowling mates to have longer rests
between spells and bowl at more maximum capacicty.
The 5th bowler might just mean LEE can have more rest and bowl shorter and more
productive spells as LEE is not a workhorse in a 4 man attack.

England dishing out the Christmas presents a but early. Opening with Pietersen, and it's all you can eat smorgasboard for the batsmen :)

How was Taylor's comment (trying to praise Pietersen) that batsmen hit the ball "not too far away" from fieldsmen. Sorry Tubby, but hitting the ball where the fielsmen aint is good batting.

Ponting out to a top ball from Harmison. Nicked it to Jones for 75.

I'm beginning to smell Ashes!!!

3/304 Hussey 82, Clarke 47

Hussey has just nicked a ball waist high right at 1st slip ... trouble is, there's only a 2nd slip for some reason. Strange field placement.

Tea 4/357, a lead of 386 and building.

Another brilliant century for Hussey, and Clarke's batting is full of class. Unbeaten on 73, let's hope he can get a start after Tea. A lead of 450 would be nice.

GILCHRIST 100 OF 57 BALLS
Thats the 2nd quickest in test history
Viv RICHARDS has the record of 56 balls

Even Brett HADDIN would have clapped that innings

Aust declare a million in front with 6 overs left,
enough time for 2-3 wickets

42 in perth caught behind when he missed the ball
0 in perth LBW to a too high decision[next time play a shot you birdbrain]
