No one except Clark and the medical people and possibly the Saffer we have "coaching" would know the actual facts, but I agree that Clark should have sat this out. It is an inconsequential test against an irrelevant opponent. The important stuff comes later when we go to England and Clark needs to be 100% at that point, not recovering from a dodgy hammy.

Siddle has often been the third bowler used, and has got wickets in that role. Johnson at his best was the same. Personally I'd rather bowl johnson out of order than Siddle.

They said it was the lankans first boxing day test since 95. They are due
