Strikers vs Melbourne stars

The difference here to the regular argument of home grown players is that Triffitt is quality. Not an average interstate player (Blizzard, Edmonson, Mennie type players), but a real quality one, and he's only 21 (unlike Crosthwaite, Elliott players).

If we're looking at a young grade bowler, and a thirty-year-old state journeyman, then go the young grade quick, but in the Triffitt scenario, throw the cheque book at him.

Doubt he would come anyway as if and when Paine becomes fit again he will pretty much be straight into the aussie team.

I understand he hasnt been here long, and that's fine but why we play average interstate young players ahead of our own average young players is beyond me. If there are two players with identical talent then the interstate player gets picked first
The death penalty can never be excused as it allows a state a means by which it can pick and choose who is fit to live and who isnt

Yes , you are spot on
Lets pick an average local and not the recruit an average recruit

But at the present time it appears the recruits are better players than the locals ?

We cant squarely blame Phillips, Sorrell and Berry
Its not their fault the rooting done in SA in the 1980-1990 era has not produced enough local talent

Now you are talking my language, time for a WK debate, bring it on. But I think the knockers should examine this past BBL, basically Manou was outstanding every time he kept, Crosswaite makes poor keeping look reasonable. Unfortunately Manou has not kept all year, just playing at Richmond as a batter, saving his energy for Tammie I think and that terrible show on Fox Sports - how bad is that by the way.

You mean the Northern Districts show? It's a neat little production for a grade club.

 Cam Williams bowling full bungas ;)

Best part other than Lee Furlong, was Choogies one handed catch and his comment when he won the box 'you can come Lee not sure about you Choc' Smooth Choog Smooth, must have learnt it from his brother

ps you can take all the posters in the club down soon

Are they all being recruited or are they like boat people just rocking up hoping for an opportunity?

I don't mind it, AB seems to love one of my mates. Something different, better than Idol or other pus they put on, at least it's something I can relate to.
