Hogg can play, but acts like a tool for 99% of the time he's bowling. Got young Salpietro (in his third T20 game) out LBW when the game was virtually done and carried on like an absolute tool, like he'd just scalped Lara or Tendulkar in a World Cup Final.

Time to get serious and play to win,

why hasn't Putland played? is he injured?

Not having a genuine all rounder has burnt as badly.

Adelaide's NRR cut from +0.90 to +0.29.
Still a healthy NRR, could scrape into 4 with 1 more win if other results go their way.
A win against the Sixers could be enough

If Berry is so obsessed with spinners, surely Cullen and Bailey are better options than Muirhead and Salpietro.

My XI for next game would be:

Harris
Klinger
Blizzard
Cooper
Borgas
Carseldine
Crosthwaite
Richardson (Drew if Richo not fit)
O'Brien
Putland
Haberfield

Wont happen I know but looks a lot better balanced than what we have now.
Go you Redbacks!

Spin to win has worked well, when we had 3 quality spinners (lyon, Botha, O'Brien)
... does not work with just ANY 3 spinners (McGain, Muirhead, Sal...)

Chuck has talked a lot of sh*t this summer, time to swallow the ego and pick the best 11.
Back to the drawing board.

Ferg has to be gone, and will not win two consecutive knock out finlas with that bowling attack.

They are both poo atm, it shouldn't be our perogative to blood interstate youth if we are taking this comp serious. You can't have the yips in a T20, Muirhead bowls too many poor deliveries for this form.

Dan Cullen would be a better selection than some of the current players.

GIBBS 65 [41] his offside hitting is majestic, very David Husseyesque !
NORTH 70[52] opening is his spot, struggles anywhere else
MUIRHEAD 2/37[3]

I reckon Adelaides attack tonight is the worst in the comp
Simply have run out of 20/20 bowlers
RICHARDSON
LYON
BOTHA
POLLARD
those players are all missing now
CHRISTIAN a loss as well

AS has a good top 6 batting line up, but it falls away
Will need a blistering start to win this

AS 142[19.3]

HARRIS 31 [18] did his job again
KLINGER 32 [22] did his job again
HOGG 3/20 [4] the equal best spin bowler in the comp
BEER 1/20[4] very very very good 20/20 bowler

MY VOTES
3 GIBBS
2 HOGG
1 NORTH

DREW
Cut some slack , its his first game of any cricket for the season
He will be much improved, is one of the best hitters in this comp
He is one of the very best fielders
And a more than useful bowler

Perth outclassed the Strikers except when Klinger + Harris were going
The 2 young spinners Muirhead + Salpietro might be OK, but should not be selected together in my opinion

hey mal do you still think the scorchers are too old?

They could drop both their remaining games but think the Sixers are only 1 win behind.
But probably 1 win each should see them both host the semis
