250 on a lively deck is a decent total. Hopefully Hussey manages to get a few away and get us closer to 300. The bowlers will need to make early breakthroughs though. Sri Lanka have a decent couple of bats but they get frail pretty quickly.

Sad how we seem to assume first innings below 400 a dismal failure. Shows how many roads we've had of late and how many people around just don't understand the game.

Didnt say it was a dismal failure and yes the pitch was difficult to bat on but a fair share of our wickets were thrown away by stupid and impatient batting. Whatever happened to leaving balls instead of waving the bat at everything. Hussey has shown how to grind out an innings, nothing wrong with being 3/150 at stumps, much better than being rolled inside a day

Sri Lanka would not be wanting to chase many in their 2nd dig.
IF we can scrap out 280 it could well be competitive with a good bowling effort

Differance is the Lankans get reverse swing happening and the Aussies are utterly incapable of making a ball reverse swing

I have been a Hussey critic in recent years but it's great to see him pull out a big score for us again

Poor batting by Hussey
He should have hung around long enough for Lyon to get his first run in Test Cricket
