Wouldn't have gotten too many LBs, especially when you are the D grade captain and one of the selectors. Didn't get bowled too often either because even though I couldn't hit the bloody thing I could at least keep it out.

Rik E Boy wrote:Well what can you say? What a friggin DE BARK L. 5hit decision to bat first. We bowled the Poms out for a hundred on that same deck last year. We would have cleaned the Pakis up for a hundred and been only twenty behind on the first dig if Captain Clueless bowled first ;) . Punter remains a dud captain. How can a guy who has played so much cricket have so few clues??

Captan Obvious just called to tell me we batted poorly but I really enjoyed the fine display of swing bowling by the Pakistani bowlers who used the BOWLING RICKY BOWLING conditions to perfection. Amir looks a real talent for Pakistan who will go on to have a fine test career because he won't be breaking his back trying to get something out of flat Pakistani decks.

I don't think you can complain about the majority of the batsmen's mode of dismissal. The Kat looked solid and remains and LB candidate with his shuffle across the crease. He missed one that would have hit. Watto was trying to play straight. Pup tried to take the attack to the bowlers...someone had to give it a try and Hussey was ripped off by the Terminator.

What really fried me though was North's dismissal NORTH YOU ARE SERIOUSLY AVERAGE. Send him back to the Sheffield Shield please! North is now a senior member of this batting line up and he threw his wicket away to a bowler that I reckon I could face NOT GOOD ENOUGH SON. **** him off!

After North got out I watched the Sopranos instead because that would have been less violent than my reaction to North's dismissal. The commentators said 'he'd be kicking himself' but I for one am willing to volunteer for this task. FFS.

Well done Pakistan a fanastic effort on day one and our batsmen have given our attack no hope in this match.

REB

Don't worry REB.....once Australia's odds hit $5.50 they will be sweet. Runs and wickets will come much easier

See that odds talk is more bollocks. Normally Pakistan are genuinely 5hite. Unfortunately, away from home we're not much better.

Didn't look close live and was proven not out in the replay. He is an absolute fool.

Disagree. Live it looked a good shout. Yeah he got it wrong but by Rudi's standards it wasn't that bad LOL. Hussey lost a bit of balance and that might have convinced Rudi that The Huss was gone. Unlucky, rather than a howler IMO.

Interesting that David Gower said "Rudi gets a little upset that the poor decisions get highlighted, yet the good ones go unmentioned".

Guess what Rudi, getting a decision right is DOING YOUR JOB!!!

WATTO
He has failed in the last 3 digs, its not as if he is in a major form slump
When a batman averages 50 opening as well as being a good bowler he can get out LBW forever, who cares
He gets behind the ball, never shirks a contest and gives his all for his country
He is the main reason why AU is still maintaining a lofty ranking in International cricket
When the iconic safooty allrounder averages 25 with the bat and 50 with the ball over 2-3 series then I will agree with the Watto knockers, but not until

PONTING
Im more concerned about a guy who leads this team, is an average skipper, cant bowl, and has reached a stage of his career where his peak has declined
We have all been thrilled with his amazing career but has he reached the end ?

Is Ponting the right man to win the Ashes back?

His Captaincy is suspect but he can usually cover the problems there by scoring plenty of runs with the bat - I'm not sure he is capable of doing that any longer.

I am not saying he will be replaced though, he has said he wants to win them back, plus the Ashes are too close for a new Captain I think but there are worrying signs ahead.

if aamer had caught ponting on zero at hobart then he would be averaging around 26 going back to the middle of the last ashes series

1/20 = $1-05
Your kidding me right ?

This might happen
AU 88
PA 258
AU if the sun is shining 360
PA chasing 190
dead set evenly poised

I think the odds are about right
PA are favourites but no good things

Also factor in the draw if it happens to rain

Comment Paul ALLOTT said somethun like this
"" I cant understand why Ponting has 2 guys in catching positions on the legside when the ball is swinging the other way.""
Next ball AMIN Caught close in on the leg side !!!
Amin ducked a bouncer from Hilf , leaves his bat dangling above his head and it hits the bat !!!!
Ala Douggie Walters against EG a long long time ago
PA 5/195
Kamran akMAL the incoming batsman

Need to break the MALik/akMAL partnership and get into the hares

I haven't given up... Unless the iconic all-rounder pulls a hammy... ;)

Aus could score 400 if they get in soon!

Might be the Sydney test all over again. Those Pakistani bookmakers would have a field day.
