Tassie is right, it's the basics doing us in atm. Holding catches, hitting the right spots with the ball. Meanwhile we're playing a couple of loose shots, going for what we shouldn't and paying the price. The trouble is they aren't giving us anything to really have a crack at.

It really does look like we weren't mentally prepared to bat today.

Also Steyn's fastest ball so far was 146.2kmph.

How is the WACA pitch expected to play over 5 days? Generally bats better as a match wears on doesn't it?

What sort of range total would we need here?

I forgot this match started today until i got a text message from 3 mobile..... for some reason i thought it started tomorrow.

Anyway, what another sh1tty start from our top order..... people already on Hayden's back saying he should be dropped and he's finished..... what about Ponting, Hussey and Symonds, they have scored no more than Hayden.

Hopefully Clarke and Katich can save us again and make a decent total.

The scorecard is looking better and better........ they both need to go onto make a hundred because i can't see anyone else making runs after these two.

Agree HOF. The same people that are calling for Hayden to be axed will generally want to see Shaun Marsh in his place. FFS Marsh averages less than 35 in first class cricket. He smashed a few around in a couple of games of teeball but that's about all he's done.

Pup brings up his half-century with a loft down the ground for 4.

3/135

And Nicholas is creaming himself over a cut from Katich. Was a ripper of a shot though.
