Broughy back from the brink by a 19 year old number 11. Didnt see that coming.

Question though what was up with Broad? Took a very long time to get him into the attack.

re Broad - has to be on the field for the same time he was off the field before he can bowl

Good innings by Agar. Now do what you're in the side for taking wickets or at the very least building pressure a la Bruce Yardley.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Redbacks followers should remember Agar. His unbeaten 10th wicket partnership in March saw us go from hosting the Shield final to not even making the thing. The boy has record.

Swap the Kat for the poor mans Kat(Cowan)
and Rogers(if he still hasnt done anything after game2) for Voges
Then if Watto finally breaks down for good get Cossie on the plane...i think he could actually do quite well a international level.
Who cares if he's slower than the other batsman because of his weight, you cant tell me Clarke, Watson and Cowan keep getting themselves into run-out situations because of lack of pace

Do you see him as a long term prospect?
Thought he showed a fair bit with the bat but he is in the side for his bowling.
Will need to start taking wickets to keep his spot. Thought he bowled ok, big day for him today coming up
I hope the selectors stick with him for atleast a few tests, I know Lyon wouldnt want to hear that though

Nah he could've bowled whenever he was needed. It was an external injury so he Didn't need to wait

Having a good laugh reading the posts about the English commentary. No worse then every Australian summer where the fanboys slater, healy and taylor get given a microphone and start barracking for Australia. if you can't put up with it, listen to the radio.

Massive dilemma isn't it, ultimately his current role is to take wickets especially on a pitch which appears to be taking spin.

I don't think our batting depth is that great that we can afford to drop an 'inform' batsmen

He obviously has talent with the bat, he has an extremely good batting record in grade cricket, his shield performances with the bat have been very handy, an average of 33 with 7 not outs for a number 8 is great.

I think he needs to continue with the bowling and maybe WA need to look at promoting him into the top 7 and help develop his batting.

So I'm stuffed if I know what the selectors will do if he fails with the ball

Going by Lyons results with the ball, wickets don't seem to matter. Would doubt that Boof would get rid of him anytime soon, will give all players a chance to perform over a lengthy period of time.

I disagree, if Aussie Agar doesn't take wickets he wont retain his spot in the side unless they put him up the order and dump an under-performing batsman.

Got a few of them
Being serious Agar has shown more with the bat and ball in 1 day than Maxwell has in his test career.
