Gotta be within 60 runs at innings end. 250 in the 4th innings here won’t be easy to chase down.

It’s funny when the Indian media jump on this and are digging their claws in very deeply towards the Australians. They have an agenda where they don’t want to be seen as Australia beating the Saffers when they couldn’t. Some of the stuff written on ESPN from journalists is a disgrace. I really hope we stand tough and win this Test. There is definitely an insecurity about the Saffers and the Indians. The Australians we know don’t back down from this sort of shit.

Yes, we aren’t innocent and we dish it out. But there is no way Cricket Australia officials would behave like that. South Africa really is a backwards country in many ways.

It is definitely a cultural thing. How we act towards others as a society in general is certainly not normal in other societies particularly in India and also more reserved England. What we look at as a down to Earth and open demeanour is seen as more intimidating and provocative elsewhere. What annoys us as Aussies are our rivals efforts to match our verbal aggression... its a passive aggressive stance where they strike the match and then stand back amazed when a bushfire erupts.

It’s very true and an excellent observation.

In previous employment I had a very strong working relationship with South African Stakeholders. They are the first to admit how behind the times they are as a society and how corrupt their country is. Some of the stories they tell me don’t belong on this page but leave your jaw on the ground. It does relate to this because in South Africa, yes those officials get away with that. Internationally there is absolutely no chance and leaves you shaking your head especially considering how defensive they have been on the whole issue.

You can’t control how others act or behave but you can control how you do.
Regardless of how the opposition behave, Warner needs to pull his head in and set an example as the VC of the side.

I have to agree it has been blown out of proportion but Australia has been the bully for a long time and now they are copping it back they don’t like it.

We have to be better than that IMO

I don’t understand what you mean when you say “We don’t like it”. Warner and Lyon are the 2 blokes being sanctioned and are 2 of our best performers in the series and Australia at worst are going to be level pegging going in to the 3rd Test. If a bloke had a crack at your family on a sporting field I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t be happy with that. If our blokes did something of that ilk 20 years ago it’s hardly these blokes fault.

Read between the lines what is happening over there. Australia are happy to go down the path the Saffers are, but as Northener said above don’t stand back in amazement and denial after you start a bush fire- which is exactly what DeKock and his mates have done after the first Test.

As a supporter of Australia I care what they do and not the opposition.

I’m not saying DeKock is blameless in this but I just think Warner may have got back a bit of what he deserves.

I’ve got no issues with Lyon and the rest of the team, just the VC and the way he acts.

I’ve got no doubt DeKock didn’t start it. Weak as piss though to turn around and bring a blokes wife in on the argument no matter how heated it gets. Then when you do it at least man up and say you ****** up. Anyway we’ll have a pretty good idea tonight in the first hour how well it’s worked for the Saffers.

I think both sides need to put the BS aside and just play cricket as it’s been a bloody good Test series thus far.

Has been good, we’re a shot if we can set them 200 but realistically it needs to be 280 plus.

Could be a delayed start with mid morning rain forecast.

Yep it's a shame that a very evenly fought series with some bloody good cricket is been over-looked compared to a lot of BS chest beating.

They are bleating about the tape Warner has on his left hand and fingers. This would have been approved by the umpires prior to play and I fail to see how the condition of the ball can be changed by this. Considering the amount of tape Faf and co have on their hands this just smacks of more bullshit.

Striking another match... wanting another bushfire. They will lose their strike bowler for the rest of the series and Warner will need all his (at times lacking) composure to resist striking back and earning another demerit point and an enforced holiday. Hopefully the powers that be (and warner) recognise it for what it is... passive agressiveness at its best. Bullying whilst appearing to be the beleagured victim.
