Personally I think we are comfortably ahead. Shouldn't score any less than 350, you would think with the heat the pitch will have to crack and wear and make batting on the 4-5 days extremely difficult.

If we can get to 350 you would think NZ would need at least 400 minimum first innings to be in the game.

I'd say we are just ahead, and Head and Labuschagne have the opportunity to ram that home.

Kiwi's could have been just ahead if they had have got Head out, but got their plans to him very wrong when he was vulnerable.

4/248 sounds like a boring days cricket, but I thought it was very intriguing.

He might not look much but wagner has a wonderful record. Full credit to the bloke.

He seems to bowl a "quick" 130km's, like McGrath and Broad, whilst also being their workhorse.

We should be able to bat at least a session and a half. Our quicks are miles better than theirs, Starc to run through them tonight

I take my hat off to de Groundhog, just bowls in that annoying area at a pace where you have to hit the ball hard to benefit from it, I seen him stray twice where Marnus leg glanced him for 4 both times, that meant he went for 16 from his other 94 deliveries, fair effort considering if Smith really wanted to he could've really unleashed for an over or two with the field up.

Yeah, agree, he plays an important role for them and does it well.

Ideally probably bowls a little too much, but he is the sort of bowler Australia need one of our batsmen to be, 10 overs a day, and stop all the rubbish needing to pick an allrounder unless a genuine one happens to come along.

very Chris Harris-esque, perfect for their conditions, handy for ours, surely we could manufacture one, how hard could it be to roll the arm over and land on the spot, would rather see Smith or Marnus having a crack at that opposed to trying to bowl leggies when there's one or two in every ten that gets caught in the hand or fingers.

Not a wise decision to shoulder arms to a brand new pink ball in a night session of a test though

They need to get a hurry on either way.
Paine needs to start playing some shots and move the scoring along.

It’s the first session of day 2, plenty of time remaining
