They're not doing the job in grade cricket anyway. The blokes there doing well are either the B graders from interstate or blokes who have had plenty of chances and failed. I agree that a state with such a long and decorated history of producing test cricketers should be able to find plenty, but they aren't coming through. I've said for years it's the grade cricket system. Too many clubs and most happy just to play. Cut half the clubs and create an environment where clubs are desperate to improve. Then the talented bloke won't miss out for the dud committee member's nephew. We need to make sure our grade system has the best bowlers bowling to the best batsmen as much as possible.

The question I asked myself was, why didn't he just take bails off with ball in hand??

Ross was good for us last year, deserves his spot

Don't think he has ever made a A Grade District Ton, can't see how you can be selected as a batsmen if you have not done this in 3 seasons.

While I agree there are too many clubs and a 'few' clubs not doing a good job. The majority are, or trying to. One thing that never gets mentioned is the High Performance Structure at SACA. Where are the U17/U19 talent that play in carnivals each year and have won carnivals? they havent developed them.... If grade cricket is so poor, these blokes should be smashing them shouldnt they?

Thoughts on Brenton McDonalds perfromances so far? lets not forget he was the best player in Vic Grade cricket last season.

Such a disappointing start to the season, but I guess if we can find ANY positives to take - at least our bats are applying themselves and we are posting competitive totals. Last year we relied on our bowling to keep us in/win matches.

I would hope as the season progresses that the bowling can get back to where it was last year.

I'm not sold on McDonald, hasn't been super impressive in the 1st two games, Sayers has struggled but confident he will bounce back as has Richardson.

Hold the faith my friends!

According to Tubby you need to average 80 at the Adelaide Oval to even get thought of.

Someone should point out to Tubby that all these Ryobi games are being played in Sydney..
