Before you shoot a load, calm down.. it's all well and good for him to come out and blast a quick 60 so far, but the issue with Warner - and most likely aways will be - his consistency!

What good is it having a bloke who once every half dozen tests comes out and scores runs? Also i'd like to see him for bat for extended periods of time instead of scoring 100 in 10 overs and being done with it...

Warner is a work in progress, his game is developing all the time. Of course as an opening batter you will fail, and the way he plays his dismissals will look ugly from time to time. He is averaging 40 over his first 10 tests..... so far from as inconsistant as you think.

Well said.

What I like about Dave is that he wants to be successful in Test cricket and has had to work hard as he burst into the spotlight via the shortest form and was tagged as a slogger.

Hes a fighter reminds me touch of langer in his personality. He has fought to break down the stereotype of being a T20 specialist and going hard at everything. The way he has handled Morkel and Steyn today showed his continued development in the fact he worked gaps on the legs side and waited to pounce on the fullball.

yeah i am making that assessment after witnessing Steyn not really offering a lot

Kallis - the wicket-taker is out injured and that will affect his batting

the captaincy now with the bowlers is just raffertys rules - just throw it to a bloke and he will bowl

both clarke and warner are now set, the pitch dries out and it will be a batters paradise

so yes perhaps im a fool but south africa can not win this game

He need's to bat flamboyantly IMO, his better knock's have been when he's been aggressive.
