We tried to warn you!!

Mmmmmmmm....... Was always gonna happen there will be a few people walking around with rise coloured glasses feeling a tad silly at the moment

Say you split the 6000 expected loses in half 3000 crows 3000 power that's a loss of around $10k each, I didn't think either club is in a position to throw away 10k

It shouldn't be an issue as I honestly can't see who would possibly want an Ultimate Membership.

The only way it is value is for people who go to all Port, Crows and Cricket games. How many would currently do that? Maybe 100 people??? (the Baymans of the AFL and cricket world  ) But even they would be turned off by the money going to the SMA and not to their AFL club(s).

The only people who will buy them are the upper class to whom money isn't an issue and are conned into thinking that it is some sort of prestigious club.

Absolutely agree. Which begs the question - The state is spending over $600m on this development, why not charge more to be an ultimate member?

Does anyone know if there is going to be a cricket membership linked with one of the footy clubs (not both) and if that would be transferrable?

If there is I doubt they will admit it until after this notso-Ultimate Membership registration period closes as they want to get as many $75 joining fees as possible!

I woulda thought a few people would get this membership. The cricket only membership offered by Adelaide Oval is expensive enough (I don't know the exact amount), but that's not really great value either, but they still sell out every season. If I was a member at Adelaide Oval previously, I would probably upgrade to the ultimate package. Hopefully I can afford one in a couple of years haha.

but unless you are a crows and power fan it will cost more than buying a saca + one of the football teams

and if you buy an ultimate for football you lose privalleges of your club football membership such as finals tickets preferences and guaranteed grand final tickets as per the gold class tickets

The infighting about $$$$ between SMA and SANFL/AFL clubs has started already.

For $800 I get to catch a train to the stadium, no bbqs , no saved seat, no access to finals , my money doesn't go to the club, I can't share my ticket with my mate who is a power supporter like I have for the past 15 years.

I can't even take my wife to football and then take my mate to cricket as tickets are non transferable .

And as we know all crows/power supporters need is one excuse and they will stop attending.

Now PAFC who are struggling to get sponsors now has only 29000 members as opposed to 35000. 15% drop off in its membership base.

This has got imminent disaster written all over it.

I read the offer document last night - no expense spared by the looks of it (the brochure)
I really wonder how many people are going to want to go to all footy and cricket matches.
But, you get first dibs on tickets to other events - whoopee
I cant wait to see the take up rate.

Also, $150,000 pa for a corporate box

Yeah but the novelty factor especially in the first year will have alot considering it.

Plus it's still pretty good value for someone who is planning on going to all of one AFL teams home matches plus an away showdown and all days of the test match and one one dayer which isn't an unrealistic amount for a mad sports fan especially with the ashes coming up.

I believe there are 12,200 Ultimate Memberships on offer, correct? ( Please correct me if I am wrong )

I simply fail to see 12,200 people taking up this offer and using it to the full capacity it offers.

It really is looking like a disaster before it even gets close to being completed....

Correct,

BUT, the SMA propaganda machine somehow convinced over 80% of the SACA members to vote yes to a proposal that was also full of lies and distortions of the truth. So they may be able to convince them this time too - remember it is the same crowd they are targeting.

In which case they won't care if most of them don't turn up, in fact that would be part of their strategy, to oversubscribe the members and sell as many tickets as possible and reinvest the money on more and more dodgy glossy brochures to suck them in again the following year
