Twenty minutes of play was lost in bright sunshine on the second morning of the Trinidad Test because officials wanted to make sure no commercial contracts would be breached if the match continued without television coverage due to a power failure.

In a Test that had already lost two hours to rain and lost more time on the second afternoon, the sight of the West Indies and Australia players marching back off the ground after assembling for the scheduled 9.30am start drew groans from the Tuesday crowd in Port-of-Spain. Play did not get underway until 9.50.

What a ******* joke

Happy 62nd Birthday to Jeff 'bomber' Hammond today
Made his Test debut against the WI in 1973
I reckon shortly after that he hurt his back and was the main reason he only played 5 Tests
Was a very good quick bowler
And Bomber is famous, being the last coach to have won the Sheffield Shield for South Australia

Another injured bowler......

Australian fast bowler may miss rest of West Indies tour with back injury

THERE are fears exciting fast bowler James Pattinson will miss the remainder of the West Indies tour with a back injury.

Pattinson is unlikely to bowl on the final day of the second Test in Trinidad or play the last Test in Dominica, beginning on Monday.

His loss would leave Australia with just one front-line fast bowler, Ben Hilfenhaus, to push for an unlikely victory in the rain-marred second Test.

Not good, the incident didnt look too bad at the time.
Twisted his back in a regulation fielding effort.
Cummins is fit and just finished playing u19's in Townsville, get him over there

Are Australian fast bowlers the most fragile in the history of the game?
