We're in trouble now. :(

How hard is it to have some good early order partnerships??

Tough conidions this morning, but both batsmen have thrown their wickets away.

That is the effect of 20 20 cricket. That ball should have been left alone.

Where has discipline gone???

I like and rate watto but that shot is not on when you have lost an early one and have a new bloke at the crease.

Disappointing.

Conditions are not that tough tho, marsh is proving its fine, just gotta be watchful and have some mental stamina about ya .

Watching Hughes i dont see a guy who puts enough value on his wicket. A nothing shot and another weak dismissal. I look at someone like a Michael Klinger and i see a real aussie battler who will fight and scrape. I think Hughes may have run out of chances even if he is from NSW

What a terrible shot by Hughes, not test standard. Can Marsh open the batting?

Sigh. Yet another he's from NSW post fair dinkum. And you reckon Ferg should be in because he's from SA. Oh the ironing! But yeah Hughes is shithouse no doubt. I've been saying that for a fair while now.

Ignoring Fergy's home state I honestly believe he is good enough to play test cricket and it would be nice to see him given a chance.

I dont have stats or any evidence to back up why I think he is good enough...just from what i have seen of him playing ODI's for AUS and shield for SA he has the making of a solid middle order test cricketer IMO.

Ferg averages around 37 doesn't he?

Pointing a few weeks ago spoke about our batting depth and said an average of 37 when he started playing first class cricket saw the coaches hand you a tennis racket.

I reckon there's a good reason Ferg isn't playing test cricket.

Fergus certainly looked the part every time he represented Australia in the other forms of the game. Good technique and if he isnt willing to throw it away in a one day innings id suggest he might be made of a more solid fibre than PH when it comes to protecting his wicket. Having said all that i have no doubt the Oozeman will get another crack before him as will another man in a blue cap no doubt  Sorry REB but the on-going NSW favouratism tag has been clearly and thoroughly earnt over time.

Perhaps those same standards should've applied to Michael Clarke too, he had a FC average below 40 when he got picked to play Test cricket.

Ponting throws his wicket away.

7 balls were well wide of off, Ponting wanted a peice of the 8th, and now he's gone.

Crap cricket by Ponting

Agreed, and he was looking superb too.

He often looks superb these days and then just chucks it away.
