Fair Call. I can answer your question on behalf of the players though....Its simple, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Whilst a title is surely being craved by all players competing in todays game the real bonus has already been afforded to them. Playing in the Champions League!

Its crazy that a player can make a living playing just 20/20 and a good one at that.

Ricky Ponting earns $5m per year (including endorsements) and doesn't play T20 - is that against the spirit of cricket? I see no mention of money when I read the spirit of cricket.

Read this "Oh that's so sweet" Comment in WAGs just not cricket, Adelaide Now article:
http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/entertain ... 6000452844

"Twenty-three-year-old spin protegé Nathan Lyon would be particularly eager for a win.
His entire family, including his 85-year-old grandmother, drove for 13 hours from New South Wales to watch him play in tonight's final."

But if someone who can't make the Australian side can earn $900,000 for a few weeks work then you'd have to say money is a big factor.

But why is that against the spirit of cricket?

It may be exhorbitant, but it isn't against the preamble to the laws of the game.

Good luck to them I say.
I did comment more to raise the issue that dollars is a big factor and there are only so many people that can make swisse vitamin commercials.

What is the spirit of cricket anyway ?? Is it written anywhere ?

They shouldn't be.

It would be a better game if captains knew about the preamble.

Was going to head along tonight, however my lack of interest in T20 is keeping me away.
Good luck to SA, although I think NSW will win it.
