HUGHES 0
PONTING 0
WATTO 2*

Guess which one of those batsman is playing like a test batsman
The other two were playing a 20/20 game

Hughes is almost on a hiding to nothing -even if he makes a 50 or 100 in the 2nd, he'll be out for the 3rd test.

Dear oh dear, now Ponting's gone first ball.
Pakis batting this evening?

Geez that was close, Watto looked pretty bloody nervous! Good decision by the ump out in the middle.

Aussies need to regroup here.

No, not at all. Both attrocious shots unbecoming a Test batsman.

Been a while since Ponting scored a test hundred from memory, for a captain i believe 1st ball that was a very irresponsible shot

Would Hughes have been better off being caught on the first ball he faced? Reason i pose this question is that had it been caught it could be written off as just a bad nervous shot and little else would be thought of it. As it stands we saw him scratch around looking terrible for a little while eventually still getting out without scoring. Probably more damage done to his reputation by being out there that bit longer IMHO. Thoughts?

Not sure RR, he was obviously nervous but some of the shots he attempted to play even though he lasted only a few balls he looked well out of his depth, first shot terrible, then the haymaker swing outside of off stump and then caught. Reminded me of one of my innings

Hughes shot the sign of a bloke who knew he was on a hiding to nothing, if he got 100 in a session he would still be dropped for the next Test and it showed, didn't show any respect to the bowling and was trying to belt everything. As mal said, T20 cricket it aint.

Ponting, WTF was that? Terrible, terrible shot.
