How did he go in the 2000s ?

Yes i realised he was dropped in the 01 ashes series, that paved way for arguably the best opening partnership of all time!

However, he is still infront at present IMO. Atleast he made a hundred in the 2000's. If Watson can get 2 in this decade, he will move to the top of the tree! (and yes i realise you said millenium)

Watson into the 90s!!!!

Watch him get out in the 90s again!

Maybe he could be mentioned in the same sentence as Slater then for a reason ;)

Actually, out for 89

EDIT: didnt realise that 4 took him to 89.

Good innings and enjoyed watching him

Well, why are you happy he got out then? I guess everyone has their favourites and not-so. I think it will be one of the come-back stories of the year if Watto can crown his good form with a maiden ton. It's the reason I was rushing around last Sunday morning to get to Adelaide Oval for the first ball of the day... #-o

Watson = CH CH CH CH CH CHOKER.

Another start and doesn't go on with it, What a DUD.

How can Australia possibly expect to return to No. 1 in the Test rankings if they have an opening batsman that CANT make a ton occassionally?

Right now I reckon we should start thinking about how we should manage our cricketers so they don't break down. That way we might be able to bowl sides out twice, that's what winning tests are all about. We had plenty of players make tons in England but no Ashes my friend.

By having a guy that averages 52.5 when opening the batting
And then averaging 30-35ish with the ball since he started opening the batting

I enjoyed watching that innings! However, he is not one of my favourites in the side. I still enjoy watching him.
MALs near obsession with Watto has made me not like him as much tho ;)

Geez that must have hurt Ponting for him to be showing that much pain it must be hurting.

Good to see him retire hurt and go and get it looked at. Hopefully nothing serious just bruising.

This has rout written all over it. All the signs are there - Windies haven't once looked anything but flat, our batsmen are coasting, pitch is great for batting now but looks like we'll see some cracking later on, and Hussey is scoring freely.

Hussey is scoring freely.

What the
ROACH gets a good player of fast bowling WATTO out
ROACH puts a champion player of fast bowling in hospital PONTING
HUSSEY who is known as MR Snicket walks in, ROACH is immediately spelled after 5 overs
20 minutes later it is spin from both ends

One would think GAYLE has backed WI not to win this test
First he drops WATTO, then for parts of the day has managed his bowling attack as if he was stoned

Ive had enough
Im going to watch Maverick and Bonanza reruns on Fox Classics 152
